I got hit with my first ever overdraft, and it was completely my fault.

Any way Chase bank will give me a 'courtesy' credit?

Go to your bank, talk to them be like its your first time blah blah blah, see if that works.
If it doesnt just pay up and be more careful

WAMU used to give one overdraft fee return and if it is WAMU that turned into Chase, you may still be able to get that fee back.
Either way just talk to the bank representative and tell them you have been a great and loyal customer and if they can just take the fee out for you this timearound.

yeah, those suck. Best thing to do is to go in and talk to someone about it. don't try to argue with them though, if you appear to take the L graciously, they may look out for you. It's not like it will hurt them one way or another.

I have overdraft protection with my wellsfargo. They email you and pull some money from your savings into your checking. I really like it. Haven'toverdrafted since leaving WaMu/Chase.

yeah, you should get a "courtesy" reversal if this is your first one. How much do your guys banks charge for you OD protection? You don't gethit with the full $30+, but don't they still charge $10+ for an auto transfer fee?

I haven't had one for a minute, but if I remember correctly my Wells Fargo account doesn't have a fee whatsoever, just takes the moneyfrom my savings like a regular account-to-account transfer.

Although i'm with US Bank because they're open 7 days a week, be lucky you don't get an OD fee from them. It's $35 each + $7 each day youdon't pay.

Probably not as effective, but Chase does have a feature where it can email your current balance daily (not including pending transactions) and you can eithertext for your balance or get texted when your balance is below a certain level (you set that level up). Chase kills it though with the $35 charge for eachcharge that sends your account under.

Overdraft Fees FTL

the reason I left PNC. Overdraft charges was more than I overdrew. And it was their fault but because it didn't LOOK like theirfault, they weren't responsible
