peep my stance on the M6.
Say you meet the girl of your dreams, she is perfect in every imaginable way possible, and you have 2 beautiful kids by her (along with the M6 and w/e else) and you are perfectly happy.
One day they all die in a horrible fire. Explain how that money, and M6's and mansions will make you happy again.
I pnly said the M6. Speaking from where I am in life now, the money to buy an M6 would bring metremendous amounts of happiness. If, perchance, I were to one day have a happy family and a nice house, then the money would make us all happy, as it wouldprovide for all of us to live happily. In the event that they died...

I'd cop the M6 convertible.

Whoever says that doesn't have enough money.

I mean money can literally open every door to anything you want usually nomatter what it is.

If you're looking for some theoretical concept like love, you can use your money to redefine it to what you want(if you have enough).

Then again you could say happiness is just a theoretical concept based off of what man thinks.

Money is the root to all evil!!! The only thing that I believe is true is that " Mo Money, Mo Problems " And don't lie to yourself and say youwill live an average life, if you catch bank because you know you won't !!!

I used to think it could until I met ppl who have plenty of it but lack the other things that some define as happiness(spouse, kids, health).

Just think how quick we get tired of our new phones/ shoes/ cars now. you think that'll change? No. We get tired of things and tend to want something better.

QFT. Money WILL make you happier temporarily, because you will be able to afford things you could achieve before. But once the excitement of thenew wears off, you are at the same level you were before. Only problem is, your new toys or what have you have turned into comforts (things that you need oryou have negative utility). So instead of being content with your Accord, you now need the M6 or equivalent to be content. This is the hedonistic treadmill.

As said in the post before money cant buy happiness. But it can hide the fact that you arent happy with how things are going. For example My people think Imgood cuz im 22, nice crib, and a BMW (none of which were given to me) but to be honest I miss my ex and would give up a lot just to be back with her becausewhen I was with her I was truly happy. Trust it sounds sappy but once youve had something and then you dont have it any more and dont know if you can get itback is when you really realize what matters in life and having a M6 isnt one of them.

Has anyone in this thread even thought about what happiness actually is? Think about it. What is happiness? Just think about that for a second beforeyou continue reading and then I'll tell you what happiness is.

It's a state of "mind", or to be more precise a state of "self". It's the way you view the world, the way you view things that youinteract with in your life. Just throwing a bunch of money at someone who does not already have this approach to life will not automatically bringthem happiness. Just like sooperhooper said, it gives you a quick thrill that far too many people confuse with happiness. This isn't hard to see.. justlook at how many insanely rich people are not happy, or surveys of lottery winners right after they win the lottery and then again a year later. Most of youalready live with luxuries that were unimaginable a mere 50 years ago, it's silly to think that adding more luxury will somehow bring you happiness thatyou didn't already have. The problem is you think you need more things, you think you don't already have enough, but in reality youwould be surprised how little you can really live with and still be unimaginably happy. I've met people who were unimaginably happy and yet hadnearly nothing material. Like someone earlier said, more money will only make you more of what you already are. If you want to change that, you have tochange your self, not your property.

$$ = happiness
a lot of $$ = very happy

there is no dispute its a math formula now.

Get lost.
common sense and reasonable thinking aren't welcomed in this thread.

I must say this is true to an extent. see it my way.If you were poor there is no way you can be completely happy or satisfied with life. And satisfaction mustbe a key component of happiness because if we arent satisfied with what we have we feel envious of others who have what we are missing. Envy can only bringabout bad feelings.

So its not that money is happiness or that we can't buy happiness, its rather that we need money in order to stay away from unhappiness
