(NEW YORK - April 15, 2009) - Ready to give his worldwide following what they've been waiting for, the Wu-Tang Clan's rhyme slinger extraordinaire Raekwon is set to return this summer with Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2.



Raekwon, whose 1995 platinum classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx was universally hailed as a rap classic and has sold more than 1.1 million units in the US, according to Nielsen Soundscan, has signed a distribution deal with EMI Label Services for his ICEH20 Records label to release Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 in the US and Canada later this summer. EMI Label Services will also provide Raekwon with additional radio promotion support and licensing and synchronization services.



"The wait is finally over," Raekwon says. "Words cannot describe how extremely happy I am to work with EMI Music to put out my album."



Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 buzz single and video "The New Wu" features fellow Wu-Tang Clan members Method Man and Ghostface Killah and is getting mixshow airplay at radio stations across the country, including Hot 97 in New York. The album features a spectacular line-up of guest appearances and producers: The RZA, Dr. Dre, J Dilla, The Wu-Tang Clan, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Bun B and The Game, among others.

"We are thrilled to have a chance to work with the legendary Raekwon," said Dominic Pandiscia, Senior Vice President and General Manager, EMI Label Services. "He has had a massive impact on the history of Hip Hop and Urban music overall. Everyone at EMI is excited to be working on this record and continuing his legacy."

Raekwon's second album, 1999's Immobilarity, was certified gold. To date, Raekwon has career sales of more than 1.6 million units in the US, according to Nielsen Soundscan.



Now, with the impending release of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2, Raekwon is ready to release his second masterpiece. "It's been a long time coming," he says, "and I've put my blood, sweat and tears into making this classic album for my fans."




My mind is telling me now but my heart is telling me yes, I'm tempted to take this with a grain of salt but I'd be lying if I said my *%@# wasn'ttingling. Besides Phila is usually more than legit.

If that list of guest appearances is legit it's way too feature heavy for my liking, could do without Game, Bun, and Busta but I'm definitely not madat it.

This is sort of like a big deal....after hearing him and Ghost on Cartel Gathering I been hungry to hear some more...and Kiss featuring on his !++! so thisshould be a good sequel...

The expectations for this are gonna be through the roof and we all know it's not gonna be able to touch OB4CL however I'm still excited and anxious tohear the work...

yeah I don't like the features, kinda ruins it for me.... I have a strong feeling that the busta song is gonna suck... but still can't wait...




oh and that wuu ooh or new wu song is a classic...

Maybe Nas is part of the "among others" part... though I agree it's odd to leave someone like him off the list of artists that do get listed in apromo article such as this...
Nas DID come through for Kiss...and currently working on Diddy's album... and did joints on Detox for DR.DRE who worked with Raekwon for this album so...let's not write him off just yet

and I wonder why the article specifically stated the album being released in U.S. and Canada...
they better get their heads right and realize the massive fan base of hip-hop heads over in Europe

It don't even matter anymore. I might have been excited 10 years ago, but not so much anymore.
 
This album is going to "Cuban Linx Pt2" in name only.
I hope I'm wrong, but I can tell this album will not be good.
 
yeah...way too many features for my liking...and features i'm not really excited about..

i wouldn't be complaining though if nas and clipse were in it.

regardless, i'm buyin it.

just happy to see my mans shallah back again.

I agree with your first statement but not your second. It's not a true OB4CL 2 with features like Game, Busta, Bun, Prod by Dre, Dilla, etc. I still thinkit's gonna be good though. Everything Rae's dropped the last few months has been heat, personally I even #%%% with his mixtapes from the last fewyears. *throws on Staten We Go Hard*
