I just had a ankle sprain, and plan on playing ball with a ankle brace now, but will it stretch out my shoe ? I have a pair of Lebron VI's i just got andhavent wore it yet ...Is there shoes out there that are more compatible for braces to fit better in. Can anyone fill me in on the effects of wearing a anklebrace also.

If you start wearing one now, plan on wearing every time you play from now on...As soon as you play without it you'll be more prone toinjuring it than you are right now...

generally speaking you shouldn't play on a sprained ankle. if you're considering still playing it tells me it's not that bad (I hope) so thatshould mean you shouldn't need a big ankle brace and you shouldn't need it for very long.

The cause for concern is that the ligaments in your ankle are stretched out/sprained right now and are trying to recover, stressing them out more isn'tgood but if you have to you have to. However, if you start wearing a brace your ligaments will get used to not having to pull the weight they used to and willnot be as strong, thus you'll have to keep wearing the brace.

If it's just for one day or a couple of days I would just wear the brace, I've never heard of anyone saying "damn this brace ruined my shoe",but use common sense, if it's a giant robo-cop style brace it still might.

they are pretty thick but it really gives u that support u need. 2 summers ago i broke my ankle playing ball, now i have to wear the brace or i don't eventhink about playing. I never noticed if it stretched out my shoe because i don't care about the shoes i hoop in.
