I've recently been considering giving away parts of my cd collection
and converting them to itunes lossless files
Anybody sold their collection and regretted it????

made a post about this a few months back i kept mine i like looking at the album art and im always worried i might lose the files

the day your computer crashes, you'll wish you had them

Even tho i been using itunes for a min now i still wouldnt give away any of my cds, even if they are on the comp.

What do you have? I might be willing to cop, keep in mind I usually buy used CD's for 2-4 dollars on amazon.

Risk/reward.

Is the small amount of money (you wont get a lot for them) worth the risk of losing the files/nostalgia of the actual cds?

make two back ups... one on one hard drive, and then another back up on a different hard drive.

aint about the money
more about clutter or storing them and not really using them
i dont play cds at all for the most part its the ipod or vinyl

I personally prefer having a physical copy. I refrain from getting anything that can play my ipod in my car to justify buying cds.

isnt CD quality like some top notch stuff compared to cheap low kb mp3s?? with the right equipment ie headphones and sound system, mp3s sound like crap.

ipods and itunes is a complete travesty to those that really care about how music sounds.. its always close enough to the original though and thats good enough

I always like bumping my real cd's in the car, the burned cd's always sound like crap.
