you'd be surpised. I had a friend who was transgendered in college, started as a female. By my senior year, you woulda thought, he was thereally deal genuine male. Hell, he looked more manly than me

but even still how would you even enforce a law that you have to disclose your gender before sex? the license suggestion was just flat out stupid...

same way if you know you have aids its illegal to have sex with others without them knowing and putting them at risk

also underage girls lying about there age and having sex with older men is not ok. all this should be disclosed as this also plays the "pedophile"situations or rape and such.

but you can't do anything about it till after it happens...how do you 'the law' make someone tell another person their gender before sex?you can make it a law but nothing can be done about it until after the sex happens...

yep... i've never been able to understand why the courts completely disregard the fact that some girls lie about their age... it makes no sense to mewhatsoever

you can't do anything about any law until after it happens, wether its robbery, murder, selling drugs. But people know what they are doing iswrong. I just feel that Transgenders should disclose that they are transgenders to others before sexual acts. You can spot transgenders but not all, andthey're rights start where others end.

but as long as there are "one night stands", "meeting online"people put themselves in situations where they are running risks of suchthings to happen. A risk people take for not getting to know one another

At the end of the day nothing justifies murder. I mean you spent three days with a person and have sex and you dont know. And you found out before you did havesex then take the L and get the %$!+ away. But doing life for killing some stupid guy that thinks he is a girl.

Point is he killed him because he was a transsexual. And nothing else.

Therefore, i agree with the verdict as well as this being a landmark case.

I hope this case will help bring justice to future hate crimes.

Unfortunate that he did not tell the dude of his real gender.

Always look at their hands, guys. I've seen many transgenders and their hands where about the only way I could tell they weren't born a woman. Itsunfortunate that someone had to die, but what reaction did the transgender expect? If he did something physical with the transexual, I wouldn't even blamehim, as harsh as it sounds. I'd probably kill him too, and feel no remorse.

I'm glad the guy got the sentence he did. It was definitely a hate crime, and no one deserves the treatment that she got.

See the South Park episode on hate crimes to figure out my opinion of hate crimes. They hit the nail on the head with that episode.
