if your old enough to fight in a war your old enough to do ANYTHING you want? Drink, rent a car, get a hotel room, etc...

Speaking from personal experience, I completely agree.

If we put ourselves on the line with nothing but a flak jacket, toying with your lives(by way of extension) and ours, we should be able to take a swig back inthe states... and take care of other adult dealings (under 21)

Let's say that the scenario you're talking about got put into effect in the near future. That would then openthe floodgates for other arguments of the same nature.

"I'm old enough to drive, so I should be old enough to ___"
"I'm old enough to work, so I should be old enough to ___"

There would be no end to the madness.

I do. I feel if the government thinks you're old enough to do something that might possibly take your life, then you should be able to do things thattarnish your health.

If I'm old enough to fight in a war for my country, putting my life on the line it should be legal for me to drink to my heart's content if I survivethat war(that I may or may not agree with).

Quite frankly !!%+ all these other rebuttals. I don't see why that would open floodgates to anything. Me fighting in a war should allow me the luxury ofdrinking, most of the other examples should not apply.

I do to an extent. I see young soldiers all the time who literally just got back from war but can't even buy a case of beer from the Class Six on theweekends. Then commanding officers want to get up in arms when their soldiers are getting small charges for underage drinking.

I feel that the right should go to those that deserve it; it should be micro-managed a certain way. By no means should it go to the college crowd...

Mad? Not at all, im 27 and the 21 year old thing never fazed me. I live in the D and Canada is only 20 minutes from my house

Just had a customer walk in the store who just got back from the army and hedidnt have his ID on him and he wanted some beer but he looked like a kid and couldnt sell to him. I was like damn my man is serving this country and he cantgrab a bud ice but in this business no ID means hell no. Getting popped for serving to minors is a big fine.
