whats good NT im 17 and fairly new to the sneaker game and i wanted to know from much more experienced sneaker heads what makes the quality of the productsthat JB put out in the past better compared to some of the products now since its harder for me to get my hands on some og pairs

better quality was used all over, Jordan Brand has become such a name now that they know people will by the shoes no matter how low the quality is, so they usethe cheapest products available.

they used to make shoes that would hold up and people would say "yeah Nike makes a good quality shoe" better thicker softer leather, just bettermaterials overall.

While I agree the quality used to be better, it's not THAT much better... It's not like the shoes were of hand-cut-hand-sewn quality

I own at least one pair of sneakers from each decade starting 1980s and I would say that 80's and early 90's sneakers were made better (usually made inKorea) than later releases.

yeah but if you look at a Countdown Pack shoe a III for example and then a 94' retro there is quite a big difference.

Listen the easiest way you can understand this is to do the feel test.

I have a pair of royal/black 18s from 2003 and got my hands on my friends cdp 18s NO Contest

Do this with alot fo kicks that came out before 06 and you will know

Better leather, better nubuck, better rubber, better foam midsoles, better air pockets, better zoom...pretty much everything about the og's was betterquality.

- Word is born.

Back in the days, the Signature Air Jordans were actually meant for basketball. Now it's just meant for casual wear.

JB got team Jordans for the court.

^yea, basically all of the retro after 05' is meant for causal, hard cushioning and cheap material that they can get away with since alot of people dontball in them.

Yup basically what everything said. It's a shame cause people keep buying it. MAYBE if their sales went down just a little bit then maybe they'dsomewhat go back to the old days, but for now and the future, its crapppppp material.

and even the team jordans don't stand up too well

After they figured out that they could sell just as many if not more shoes with those wack @ss materials, it was all over...They saved money on materials andmade more money off of their releases. Can you say $cha-ching$? lol

Like everyone said previously, but my own experience is my '94 blk/red bulit like a rock! Now I's are flimpsy.

The only good quality Jordan released is the premier shoe of the year imo. XX3's very good quality.

Well, I'd say OG Brand Jordan productions are OK.
JB was created around late 90s, if I'm not wrong it was 97-98.
So, OG XIVs to OG XX3 had better quality, compared to recent retros' quality.

HOWEVER, they are nothing compared to OG Jordans by Nike.

zoom is better now then back then....but everything else is accurate.

i had a chance to see some OG carmines, and eventhought they were so old/worn the leather still looker much cleaner and stronger than my CDP carmines.

the leather just, it just, i can't explain.
its beautiful and u can really feel the difference. the shoes back then were built with more cushioning and better materials...
