i don't think you're giving him enough credit, and I have to question your dedication as a nuggets fan if you're still saying he'sgarbage after seeing how far he's come this year. i could go on and on about how he picks up on rotations, makes better plays on the ball, cuts to thebasket more, steps in for the 17 footer when defenders come at him at the 3 point line,etc., but you'd know all that if you were watching. the kid is stillpretty raw as far as talent, but he's only 23. who is better than he is at his position/age right now? if not for jason terry coming off the bench (sameJT who's been a starter the majority of his career), jr would have been a top candidate for 6th man of the year this year. he single-handedly won a fewgames for us when Melo or Chauncey didn't show up. he is a scoring machine off the bench, and matched up with some of our excellent bench defenders hefits right in, which is why we have one of the best benches in the playoffs. he's not perfect, he's not the best defender in the world, he still takesquestionable shots every now and again and has a bit of an itchy trigger finger, but he is so much more controlled now than he was even 50 or 60 games ago. the kid deserves more credit, I think he can be an all star one day. ok, off my soap box...

i work in the mall in Houston and JR Smith spends alot of his time there in the summer... He is always comin in and coppin 4 and 5 pairs of kicks all thetime... i remember when he came in, bought all the white forces, and each package in a size 14... the dude is on his kick game... he prolly just wanted to seehow they hooped, especially since they're the same color as his uniform...
as far as permission... i'm not really sure how that kinda stuff goes... i play for a college and we are only supposed to wear shoes that identify wit thebrand that is sponsoring us... that means if we get some team lebrons, then we have to wear some kinda nikes to hoop in while we are in the game... its part ofthe contract... as far as the nba goes, i dont know, but they're might be a lil more to it than we think...
whoever said that stuff about JR's game bein raw and unharnessed was on point... he is 23 (i didnt know he was THAT YOUNG!), and comes off the bench...what do you expect the top scorer off the bench of an NBA team to do?... pass.. cut... pass... screen away?... lol... H*ll naw... he comin in gunnin... andyeah, he takes questionable shots... but think about the 6th man of the Year... Jason Terry comes in gunnin faster than Smith, and they arent that far apart asfar as field goal percentage... plus, Smith dropped a couple 40-point games this season... kinfolk got game...

much respect on recognizing that. let's also remember the second to last game of the season where he dropped 11 three's off the bench...
edit: by the way, for anybody interested, JR scored 21 points last night, 3 for 7 from the 3, 60% overall, and was +27 when on the court. he also had 3assists, 2 steals, and 0 turnovers in 25 minutes. doesn't sound like garbage to me!

J.R. isnt with Jordan Brand. I graduated St. Benedict's with him. I spoke to him recently and he's not with them. He just liked the sneakers and itmatched the Nuggets Jersey.
