the good:
-It appears to be a GS/PS/ KIDS model only..
the bad:
-its your ultimate hybrid MESHING of cross trainers. something you'd see in the late 80s/early 90s with the blending of the models. But WITHOUT a truecross trainer midsole.
what a mess.
for those wondering the uppers inspiration:
-its a 2nd tier takedown model based off the of the sc trainer II 3/4, low. The only difference here is that this model doesnt have a STRAP.
-the auto force trainer does have a ankle collar padding similiar to the signature model, so it really could just be based off of the SC TRAINER SC II 3/4, butin a strapless form.. either way, it takes on the form of either original model.

regarding the womens escape.. the midsole is that of your basic 'bo trainer sc III'
the real thing is as such:
-only the LOWs appeared to have a toebox that is separated. yet this woman's release appears to be a HIGH CUT but a blend of the low and HIGH with a botrainer midsole thrown in.
an E high example:
vs.
= A HIGH CUT shoe that is essentially an OG E low, with a midsole of that of a bo trainer sc III. just great
Beware you all. Nike doesn't care. Let's mash a cluster of CRAP together and call it a day.
Throw on a midsole thats "close enough" and it just looks very ugly.

looking at them some more.. that upper is nearly PERFECT.
throw on a strap and correct midsole and youve got that ideal retro:
-using that autoforce trainer upper, i tried photoshopping a real midsole and strap.. the results can be deceiving
which makes what is in that catalog even more infuriating.. they are spitting in our faces, kicking us in the balls, and they just dont care. likewise to youNIKE, i dont care no more

Argh... thats what we've been saying all along... they can do whatever the %$!$ they want with these hybrids... so long as they give us the OGfirst. I just don't get it... am I missing something? Do they really expect these to sell?

Thanks for all the extras there Wally. And btw, those particular colors are in kids/gs only, but they have a whole slew of adult colors coming out.Black/Grey/Solar Red, and an all Aquamarine color with purple and neon hits. The pics of those just didn't turn out very well, so I didn't botherposting. It does appear that the uppers on the Auto Trainer are about perfect. The only thing missing is that mesh tape stuff, BUT the detailing seems to bethere, only in stitching.
There was also some sort of crazy high top Air Tech Challenge II hybrid with a vulc sole, and a weird ATC III low top deal with a goofy air sole.

Thanks for the info!
With that said, just add that as a trainer fan, I have to admit that cross trainer line has always been a great mixing work. It was easy to find details from atrainer I in a trainer II, midsoles of a trainer SC on a trainer III (GS), strap from SC II in womens SC I or things like that, but always in anendogamic way, ie details form a trainer X shoe in a trainer Y shoe. But NEVER details from another line (for example, a blazer sole in atrainer shoe).
So, I can accept Nike mixing parts of a trainer E with the sole of a trainer SC III, but it's really sad to see Nike mixing a glorious model as SCII with a vulcanized sole just to make a cheaper retro or just for not have to search (or remake) molds for the midsole/sole.
Finally, Wally, the upper is NOT exactly the same, the have taken out the "olde flywire" technology, ie those glass-fiber straps. And they were asimpressive as the rest of the shoe, believe me...
