Stickem' Up !:: Vol: ever get Robbed over Jays or other shoes?...

my crib was broken into before and i got GOT...seriously
they hit me for about 25 pairs of jordan's, air maxes, and forces
to give a jist of what they got: cdp 13's and hares, grapes, infared 90's, olyimpic 7's, etc
however on the bright side, its alot of shoe's that mean alot to me that didnt get touched.
it still hurts to this day bcuz of what i went through to get to where i was at.
its been hell tryin to get those shoes back, but i'm not giving in...
so guys & gals, be grateful for what u have please. we've all been blessed to have mass amounts

Robberies & other shoe-induced crimes still go down. I almost got robbed by someone @ the mall the morning the Cool Grey Jordan XI released back in 2001.He backed off when I stood up to him. I saw someone get robbed for their 11/12 CDP on release day this past December. He got hit in the head from behind andthe attacker ran like LT. The security guards tried to help, but the dude got away. Jordans are consistently popular releases and the really sought afterpairs, such as Jordan XIs, do tend to induce Hurricane Katrina behavior out of people, no matter the age or sex. Those Jordans tend to sell out in minutes andwhen you throw in the fact that store employees often steal or have all kinds of shady dealings that make them even harder for people to buy, then you'vegot a disaster waiting to happen. The best things to do are:
1) Try getting them online. Make sure your computer is fast & reliable and that you're ready to order as the window is very small. Sites, likeNike/Finish Line/Eastbay tend to crash due to high volume. You may have to pay higher for them, but this is the safest way to get them.
2) If you have the hookup, then use it. This is better than point 1.
3) If you do have to go to the store, then go as early as you can. Find out when the mall or store opens, where you can wait, what entrance you can use and getout there at least few hours early. For example, if the spot opens at 5 AM, I'd try to be out there by at least 2AM. That way, you greatly sweeten yourchances of getting your pair & avoiding drama, especially with linecutters. These cats (women are especially bad on this count) are the leading cause of alot of the crime and crazy stories that you hear about. It's not uncommon for them to actually be the robbers that you hear about in the first place.
4) If possible, don't go alone. Even grown men can and do get clapped for not only their Js, but for their cash and other valuables on release days. If youdo go alone, it's not crazy to carry a weapon. Like I say, you can across people who'll try you because they want something for nothing.
5) Know your surroundings. Malls or areas that're known for heavy crime are best avoided. Not only because you stand a better chance of getting hit up, butbecause stores like that usually have policies that make it harder on legit people to get the shoes because of the safety issue.

this happended a while back and til this day is a messed up story.
At the time my living arrangements was pretty jacked up. my mom was moving to the burbs so i dicided to move over my dads house. ended up moving all my stuffover there as well...games ,shoes,clothes all that stuff...
at the time me and my cousin was beefed out because of dumb stuff and it resolved of me getting kicked out my dads house. so i had to go move out to theburbs...when i came to get my belongings all my shoes were gone....couple of pants were missing,camera was stolen...all that stuff
i had a total of 40 pairs of shoes...OG Playoffs XII, Concords, IX, air forces and alot of other jordans i really cant remember....i was all messed up thatsomeone in my own family would do something like that...and the messed up thing is my dad didnt reinburst me or anything.
So til this day i keep my distance from my other side of my family (dad side) just for that messed up reason. i ended up having to start all over
and istarted over with a Vengeance

My parents house got burglarized back in 04 when I still lived there. Majority of the things that were taken were mine. All my shoes, clothes andelectronics...Never let anybody in the house after that up until I moved out.

in '99 had a pair of og 12's (taxis) in my trunk and a pair of 96 airmax tailwinds. Car got broken into at a parking garage and dude stole theairmax's. I was pissed, but happy he didn't steal the 12's.

I went to the grape release and some guy brandished his gun (not at me).

*knock on wood* I never gotten robbed but know a few that did especially back in highschool. I knew some of the kids that were breaking into the gym lockerswhen everyone else would be on the gym floor. come back and ya kicks are gone. My cousin got got like 3 times. in 1 school year...lol. I keep a box cutter onme especially on early release days, never know who watching you. Plus I don't wear my heat to go pick up some shoes. stupid idea. your just giving someonea reason to get you.

and to the dude posting the campout tips..here it is, talk to dudes on the forums, when you go there make friends with a few people in line, watch each othersbacks what not, usually the let you out in twos, go out with the other dude, dont carry cash bring a card if you wanna be sneaky put it in your sock, wearbeaters and usually i wear sweats, they ask your size dont tell them or say your holding a spot for a friend, know which spots are riskier (camping at downtownniketown vs champssports in the burbs at the mall where there is mall security and such)
