Sportsbook and Bodog are both awful. Use a legit site like 5dimes, The Greek, or Bet Jamaica.

Yup.
If you're serious about betting, using something like bodog is a JOKE, and sportsbook is shady as hell.
5dimes, betjamaica, and the greek... all you need to know.
But for real reviews of them all - goto sportsbookreview.com and check it out for yourself.

yea parlays are def sucker bets...i usually do them for fun if my bank roll is good....usually no more then $25...most i ever done was 100 on a 3 teamer but ihad like 400-500 straight up on another bet and 100 straight up on another bet and i was pretty confident in my straight bet...
a lil story...my scariest bet was Houston Rockets vs Chicago Bulls this year
.....it was the game when the bulls was down like 15 w/ 6 mins to go in the4th qtr...i never sweated so much in my life haha.....glad they came back though
can't wait till college football season
....

In regards to betting on your own team - it may seem blasphemous, but a lot of times I bet against my own team in close games - that way if they win, you arehappy but lose the bet... if they lose, you're pissed but win some money... the only way you can get screwed, and i DID once... is if they middle you...where say, they're 2 point underdogs and they only lose by 1 point

I CANT get myself to bet against my teams. This sucks for me though, seeing as how my teams are terrible and I'm sure I would have made a killing off ofthem (especially the raiders) over the past few years.

The thing is though, the terrible teams are a lot of the times teams you should bet ON. Like the Knicks a few years ago, or maybe it was lastyear...I don't mess with betting in the NBA, but the Knicks sucked in the standings, but were great against the spread.

I'm thinking about keeping stats when football season rolls around so we can compare and contrast and hop on betting bandwagons and what not..That would befun I think.

I use betus.com. They are pretty good. $50 to open an account. The payout can be a task (got to send them a photo copy of the credit card you usedand your ID and sign a form). But your money comes most definately. Started last year in Sept. betting mostly Pro and College football. Won about $650 minuspayout fee. Made some money live betting too. Paid for half of my trip to Texas Stadium to see the Boys and Giants play last season.
Just getting into baseball tho. I've read where it is best to only bet maybe 1-3 games a day in baseball and do your homework on those games. I usevegasinsider.com to look at how the public is betting, vegasexperts.com to look at team stats (really laid out) and ESPN.com too. I bet the teams and not theover/under but to each his own tho. I tend to stay away from over/under, not a lot of luck. Maybe a small bet here or there when I'm having a good day.
As for today right now I'm kind of leaning Phi over NYM, Stl. over Flo.

That would be sick... every bettor goes on cold streaks soit would be nice to see how others are doing if/when i start tanking for a bit.
Also, college football is the easiest to bet on for sure. So Im sure there are many 'specialists' in here. baseball is the challenge.

I was going to say that if some people want to try to get a feeling for betting they should try centsports. It's pretty fun. I had a goodrun in the NCAA tourney and got to $15 but got careless and lost it all lol

Couldn't agree more. basketball is too tough for me and typically I stay away unless I am just outright chasing (no self control FTL).
NFL is where its at for me. I don't follow the college game as closely but I probably should as I've been told that NCAA FB is much easier tohandicap. I got rocked last season though and took an early exit.

It's all in the pitching matchups essentially. If you don't mind betting on games that are around the -200 to -250 range then you can win 70% of thetime by just betting on the big time pitchers. That's how I started.

Thats the worst way to bet baseball IMO. You make money on baseball find finding the value on + money because of the nature of the sport.
