[:: J. COLE THREAD | DREAMVILLE's ROTD3 ALBUM OUT NOW!! ::]

Upon further review Kenny Lofton is my favorite track not named Power Trip between all 4 projects he's dropped this year.

I feel like Cole should'be put Kenny Lofton, Chris Tucker, and Headbussa on Truly Yours 3 and put Is She Gon Pop and ****** Know on Truly Yours 2.

I'd leave Chris Tucker where it is & just swap N*ggas Know w/ Kenny Lofton. Is She gon Pop isn't bad imo, track is smooth not to mention short asf

Had he put Kenny Lofton, tears for ODB, I'm a fool (came out 2012) on album, it would of been what we expected....almost forgot how dope Miss America was

Believe it or not, this was my first time listening to Miss America. Said I wouldn't listen til the album as a whole leaked & once the album wasn't what I expected I forgot about.

it's :pimp: though

:smokin I forgot about it too since it came out too

Am I the only one who doesnt like the Deluxe Edition cover? Its weird looking, I gotta swap it out

He's a casualty of track selection.

Barring clearing samples...there's no way them Truly Yours 1 & 2 tracks shouldn't of made the album.

The quality isn't consistent.

The production, flow and storytelling on his giveaways are harder than what's on this album.

A shame Mo Money is just an interlude :smh:

*Peeped the deluxe tracks

He better do something with this Jhene Aiko track. Nice summer joint.

Iz She Gon Pop & New York Times :pimp:

Truly Yours Tres :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

That's the Cole I know... I'm a give BS another spin right now see if it's changed on me.

I'm a fan of Cole's but this joint, like a lot of his music, is super average. It doesn't do anything for me, maybe a few songs like Let NaS Down, Crooked Smile, Chaining Day and Land of the Snakes made me listen a little more closely.

I think he's got a ton of talent, but his music doesn't make me feel any certain way. It's not something I'm going to play in the whip, not music I'm going to let ride out in the backyard, doesn't get me hyped, I'm not going to be listening to it 6 months from now still decoding different lines.

It's not BAD music my any means, and I'd take Born Sinner over 80% of what out there today, but I just don't see a whole lot of replay value in his work.

Regardless of how we feel about the whole entire overall project, Villuminati and Trouble are BANGERS. Those 2 songs along make me cut him some slack, but there's still too many dull songs for my liking.

LAnd of the snakes is horrible.
Not only did he waste blatant copy of a classic Outkast sample, but he didn't do anything with it at all. No harmony, no melodies, no beat switching, and worse of all if you just gonna straight rap on the loop then at least bring it...and he didn't. Bunch of crap bars for Coles standards. Nothing dark or deep about those lyrics :smh: I think that's what disappoints us, when he says its about to be dark...then be fu**** dark... There's barely any darkness in the album, and when there is its at random moments... So that whole dark-to-light theme doesn't exist.

Runaway is dark, let nas down is obviously deep, but I mean...where else is this said darkness Jermaine? Just sayin, not tryna hate.

But anyways, on a positive note... Trouble is a problem on the ******g speakers yo. A problem :pimp:

Trouble is a banger, best hook on there too, I find myself rewinding it to the last time it drops at least two times before I move on.

My opinions on this album may not be worth much because I honestly didnt expect much out of him and some of you guys are true diehards and had the bar set very high but I really mess with this album. This is definitely the best thing hes done since the Come Up and could be better than it, only time will tell.

Land of Snakes and Chaining Day are really the only two songs I dont like, everything else is quality IMO.

The Album is great

The Best moments in the Album is The end of Rich N*ggasz and The end of Chaining day. This Album shows how far Cole has come with his production skill :smokin.

The Best songs IMO is Power trip ,Trouble ,She Knows and Let Nas down plus miss America if you want to count bonus tracks.

As far as my overall opinion of the album i think its a great album, One of the best to be released this year but its just not as good as i thought it would be. I feel like Cole at this point after the classic like FNL and all those other amazing tracks he put out. He should be able to drop a classic album and i think everyone felt the same way.

Yo but the bonus cuts, though?  I'm considering these all technically on the album, which makes it a totally different experience for me.  Outside of some skits, Trouble, and 1 or 2 other songs, I'm starting to love this album.

Think about music as art of expression and how many different subjects and conversations he's having.  I appreciate it that much more when I realize he was using half the songs for each of the 7 deadly sins, for example.

My suggestion, disregard every opinion you've heard or read here, listen to it for yourself, WITH THE BONUS CUTS, play it a couple times, absorb it, then come back to discuss.

i actually think this album is better than Sideline Story, lyrics are better on it as well. the beats are harder too. some songs don't sound too dark but he needed more tracks like Villuminati & Runaway

To be honest, I know you really can't compare the two but I like truly yours 3 better than the actual album. Miss america is flames
