[:: J. COLE THREAD | DREAMVILLE's ROTD3 ALBUM OUT NOW!! ::]

Month later

Replay Value is still high for me. I can honestly say I haven't got tired of the album yet.

One thing that kinda bothers me tho is "God's Gift"...i love the beat and the chorus but I just dont understand why he went with those verses. The more I listen to it the more it seems like an almost wasted song. Verses shoulda had more direction. I cant, not play it tho.

Im trying to think of all the mainstream rap albums that came out this year to see if he really has a shot at a Grammy nomination. Might be a long shot but he did make the cutoff. MBDTF, WTT, Cater IV and prolly Em & Royce are for sure locks. Lasers maybe, even tho it was trash. After that I think its pretty open for him and the other youngins, unless im messing somebody?

Eh verse was wack. Should've kept 3stacks. Cole is obviously out of his zone with party type records, and it's ironic that his first major feature post album was on a track entitled "party."

As a huge cole fan:

1. 3 Stacks on Party > . C'mon son. I'm all for Cole getting his shine and his money he deserves it. But saying that's a dope verse..

2. A month later I really like the album. Some songs have great lasting power especially considering I'd heard some beforehand. However, I definitely will say that it is NOT a classic, at least for me, and I was really hoping it would be.

3. Section 80 is still album of the year. While Cole kept getting pushed back Kendrick really surpassed him IMO but I wanted to wait until Coles album dropped to make my decision. Now it's way more clear for me and I think Kendrick got him beat.

I feel like cole got thrown into that video for exposure. too bad he didn't take full advantage with his elementary lyrics. still support him tho, eventhough I still play his mixtapes more than the album
