[:: J. COLE THREAD | DREAMVILLE's ROTD3 ALBUM OUT NOW!! ::]

Nice post @essential... maybe I was wrong. I just have 0 tolerance for singling out one group of people based on race/religion/views but it looks like I was wrong in this case.

After giving it 2 spins! As of now I like BS better than this project. Sure it could change though. Was talking to my barber (who's also a bit Cole fan) he said the album was solid but he was expecting more from him. Guess our expectations are extremely high when it comes to Cole.

Sidenote, LOVEEEEEE the outro! Reminds me of Kanye West "Last Call"

Like I said it'd all be different if he took Chuck D's tone about Elvis in Fight The Power.

There is something to be said about white Executives at record companies though. Which even extends to minority execs as well. The ones who are perpetrators of money and not the art form. That would be something to have legitimate grievances about.

See a Lord Jamar, and his opinion on white artists. I think that's who the lines were more so directed at.

Yea, I agree... the people with power created race and religion to divide people. They realize that a group united and large enough, all fighting for the same goal would no longer need them. Record executives are ruthless.

Boy ... I need to stop coming to this thread ... The stupid stuff I read here is incredible. Someone doesn't connect with a song = garbage ... Some simple lyrics reminiscing on the past = anyone can do it but yet I don't hear it ... Some of the best songs are horrid because ?????? The like the album = classic.

Dudes try to impose their likes on others like anyone ******* care ...

Like it or not Jay pushing units ... This dude sounds nothing like Drake and frankly I don't think that's what he was going for.

Tale of 2 Citiez might be my favorite track on the album.... Although Wet Dreamz may get the crown just because I knew that High School struggle

everybody in here talking about friday night lights, reminded me i havent heard that in forever. ran through it today again and :nthat: dont get me wrong, i really like forest hills drive, but FNL.... my lord thats some quality music right there

The song discriminates against white people. With all of the bull **** going on in the world right now, no one needs to hear that kind of message. Especially from a person with an influence.

You know his mother is white right?

All dude said was the truth, but whatever, stick to your fantasy land.

Just grabbed the album, it's nice. No radio singles, definitely remember him talking about how he wanted to really show how he could push an album without one and do something new.

Forget this chain cause this aint me

Though I’m eternally grateful to Jay Z

Was so elated, we celebrated

Like Obama waited Until his last day in office

To tell the nation brothas is getting they reparations aye

A man can dream can’t he?

No disrespect,

In terms of change I haven’t seen any

Maybe he had good intentions

But was stifled by the system

And was sad to learn he actually couldn’t bring any

That’s what I get for thinking

This world is fair

They let a brotha steer the ship and never told him the ship was sinking

But I got other **** to think about

Like my bank account

Forget that watch you paid too much for it

You ought to be ashamed

When brothers back home be dreading when the seasons change

Cause they aint got no heat and they aint got no AC

Walmart distribution fired my homie he just had a baby

You wonder why there’s been so many b&e’s lately

While brothers from the hood shooting like this is TNT lately

And since all the ballers leaving college early

I turned on the TV and don’t see no brothas with degrees lately.
I might have missed a few words but thats the verse.
