I hope his next project is at least better than FYEO.
At least above average.

he needs to completely switch it up for the next project

he doesnt have long before someone a decade younger is gonna start doing his lane of music better than him

idk what he can do to switch it up but he should think of something

Seems like he won't even be making any music any time soon
post #13414 of 13459
Maybe some bangers? Get some great producers.
Go to that next level and evolve as an artist.
Makes some feel good music? Idk
Dude seems humble enough to live off whatever proceeds he's made off music/touring at this point, he's damn near set for life if he really lives this "normal" lifestyle he portrays.

With that being said, I think he's good for a 5th album.

Would love to see Cole hop into mainstream style heavy. Just like how Jay "dumbed down" his lyrics and started making more hits.

everything points to him doing the exact opposite...

As label head he has already put out multiple artists so I see him going more the exec route than dumbing down his music chasing mainstream.

Dude can still be involved with music and not drop another album for years and not be bothered by where he is in terms of relevancy bc he made the decision to remove himself.

Dude can say in his prime he was a top 3 rapper... and portion of hip hop fans favorite artist.

How many more albums does he have left on his roc nation deal?
I'm doing better than I'm feeling....

The visual effects for Whom The Bell Tolls was dope. Reminded me of that one scene in Beasts Of No Nation

This is exactly why I don't **** with him now.

Switched up to the maximum.

I was listening to Born Sinner not long ago...:hat

In his prime Cole was never a top 3 rapper.

He was good, but because the competition is so watered down people say things like that.

Cole in his prime,

Whom would the top 3 be?
I've been disappointed with Cole tho. Smh

And coming from a guy who listened to him when he started out with A Dollar And A Dream

How can you say he isnt top 3?

Top tier right now every time its brought up for the newer generation its Drake Cole and Kendrick....

Album quality, sales, touring... fan appreciation, trend setting. Cole's name is in all of that effortlessly...

Love to hear how he isnt top 3.
Yup. With probably Big Sean or something being 4.

Kanye is sort of in a different category.
you'd be ranking:
Cudi, Sean, Drake, Cole, Kendrick, Wale

Cudi and Wale were already out before but all these artists really emerged around 2010~

This, its pretty much known universally top 3 (this gene) Drake, Cole and Kendrick.

First time in this thread, I didn't know FYEO wasn't well liked.

Its one of my favorite albums of late. Albums is the key word though. If I play it on random, or different songs peppered into a mix, its not as good IMO.

Yea I'm a huge fan but he has to bring next time around cause this was a disappointment.
Cole definetly dropped out the radar. He was my fav new artist starting with the dollar and a dream tapes and everything after.

But with FYEO, I didn't even listen to the album yet.. not only that, I'm not even interested to listen to it.

Whether that's a marketing fault on his behalf I'm not sure. But I still listen to born sinner and Sideline story a lot.
FYEO was a huge let down for me.

He let Nas down with that album.

Two years to produce that? Smh
I thought sideline story was pretty wack cuz it was old *** songs mostly and had a few duds on it like that track with jay z sick.gif

Forest hill and born sinner were piff though

Fell out the radar?? 😂😂😂 I can see
Not liking his latest work but he is bigger than ever. Him, Drake, K dot, only rappers going plat, selling out arenas, not small venues but arenas!! Since born sinner he has dropped 2 dope documentaries on HBO. He may not put music out every week but everytime he does drop, he def on every radar. FYEO is a solid album, just it is not as good as FHD and it's his most different album.

I do hope he gets back to more FHD like energy tho

FHD is his best LP and I think it'll always be his best LP imho.
I see that as his peak
