[:: J. COLE THREAD | DREAMVILLE's ROTD3 ALBUM OUT NOW!! ::]

Wale's personality is his problem. Been that way since forever. If he learned to shut up and just make music, it'd be a different story.

Plus he signed with MMG which makes a lot stuff he raps about seem hypocritical.
Feel this is the best response to what I posted. Wale has talent just express his emotions too much. I'm still a fan of j Cole more than wale cause of his journey.

Remember when wale was suppose to perform at LSU and but his flight got canceled. Lsu twitter wasn't happy with his excuse.

Wale too worried about being great & what ppl think about him instead of letting the music speak for itself

Just worry about keeping your fanbase satisfied, every rapper cant be a all time great

J Cole out here playing B ball in my city. I should go see what his game is about

Dude been brilliant with the very personal touch he put on the marketing campaign for this album.

Agreed. That's what really sold this album. That 361 isn't copies sold though. They include streaming now too so if he really had 15 million streams (which is a record) then that also inflates that 361.

Wale isn't going near 200K first week with his next album. MMG is slowly on the decline. Ross album flopped, Meek couldn't get a date and Wale is slowly fading.

The 361k is album sold. They're release the streaming numbers tomorrow. So It'll likely be 400k.

The sales plus streams pushed him to 375,214.

361 is albums sold. 375 is with streams. cole had 15 million streams becoming the greatest of all time passing one directions previous record of 11 million.

The Wale discussion is so off topic. Dude won't sniff these numbers. He is less popular than Wiz who was only able to produce 87k first week with a banger like We Dem Boyz. If he gets there he need to view that as a success. I personally don't think he has a really strong personal following.

i'm really impressed by Cole, he's finally flourishing as a solo act. some of the songs i liked on here are solid as well, not a fan of the whole CD but there's music for everybody on here.

Forget this chain, ‘cause this ain’t me
Although I’m eternally grateful to Jay-Z
We’re so elated, we celebrated like obama waited until his last day in office to tell the nation brothers is gettin’ their reparations, hey
A man can dream, can't he?

No disrespect, in terms of change, I haven’t seen any
Maybe he had good intentions but was stifled by the system
And was sad to learn he actually couldn’t bring any
That’s what I get for thinking this world is fair
They let a brother steer the ship, and never told him that the ship was sinkin'

But I got other things to think about, like my bank account
Forget that watch you paid too much for it, you ought to be ashamed
When brothers back home be dreadin' when the seasons change
‘cause they ain’t got no heat
And they ain’t got no AC, Walmart Distribution
Fired my homie, he just had a baby
You wonder why there’s been so many B&E’s lately
Why brothers from the hood shootin’ like this is TNT lately
And since all the ballers leaving college early
I turn on the tv and don’t see no brothers with degrees lately

Very happy that this will likely be his most successful album because he doesn't have to worry about pandering to the radio anymore.

This is (easily IMO) the best project since his tapes and the progression will hopefully continue with his next project.

Same for me bro

Everyday I feel like listening to a different song on repeat.

All of this.

Feel sorry for Wale that he's so insecure.  And in a way that seems like it will doom him for life.

Pretty much. Like it or not, Wale does have something to say in his music and he has been pretty successful at making female oriented radio singles. The only thing that keeps him from prospering is his personality and possibly management.

If he was marketed differently and learned to shut up he'd be a lot more successful.

With that said.. He's not exactly doing poorly either.
