[:: J. COLE THREAD | DREAMVILLE's ROTD3 ALBUM OUT NOW!! ::]

I don't know what it is, I haven't been feeling anything I heard from his album aside from Power Trip.  I'll still buy to support him though.  Hopefully, it'll grow on me like GKMC did

Let Nas Down is a real *** song. You gotta respect a rapper whose ego and pride isn't big enough to make a song like that. Can't wait to cop.

Some of you dude better stay out the thread. Were going to dropping those spoiler rap lines.. haha Yall really going to hold out 12 days though or another 4-6 if it leaks?

I just listened to Forbidden Fruit and Let Nas Down. I couldn't help but notice Cole borrowed a couple of lines.

"What you eat don't make me ****zz" and "No I.D. my mentor now let the story begin". The first one off Heart of The City by Jay and the second off Kanye's Big Brother.

Any who, album just finished downloading, brb when I'm done listening!

I listened to the album and I have to say upon first listen I am a bit disappointed. I will give it a few more listens before I give my final rating but as of now I would have to say Sideline Story>>>>Born Sinner.

This song has some standouts but also some songs that are really weak with some of the worst hooks I have ever heard from Cole.

Standout tracks are Forbidden Fruit (may be the best song on the album and Electric Relaxation sample is appreciate), Runaway (another great Cole track), Let Nas Down (well executed song), Villuminati (dope intro) and LAnd of Snakes.

The average songs like Trouble and Chaining Day could have been stronger with the latter overproduced and bit too lengthy.

Another thing that hurts this album from being stronger are the skits and interludes. They are pointless and do nothing to enhance the album or its theme....IMO they all are easily forgettable.

I am a huge Cole fan but I still think he is at times on certain songs trying too hard to appeal to the masses instead of staying true to himself.

By no means am I saying the album sucks after one listen, it is solid but not great and I believe Cole can do better lyrically.

Btw... has kanye said anything about J. Cole and the release date? I know it surly doesn't matter to him, but just wondering if he even acknowledged it... I don't even think I've seen or read an interview with Kanye recently. SNL and the projection sites.. Thats it..

Only listened to a few songs, but how'd he get these sample clearances? Already heard fairly unaltered versions of Da Art of Storytellin & Electric Relaxation...

NYC listening session was ******ed. One car surrounded by a swarm of people trying to listen. This leak makes up for standing in the rain

Just finished the download...anticipation

There's no way Cole didnt see the leak coming with streaming his album though.

These days people don't buy albums unless they're supporting; so a great move in my eyes. Let the album marinate for a week or two, the hype will build if the music is as good as he says it is (I'm 5 tracks deep and it is). Ye seems to be keeping promoting Yeezus to a minimum, and it looks like Cole just intentionally went all in on his hand lol.

Maybe he didn't plan on it and im just over thinking it, either way ill be buying both.

It's cool but not what I thought.

Let NAS Down (minus the horns), Villuminati & Chaining Day are my faves.

Will have a more thorough listen tomorrow though
