[:: J. COLE THREAD | DREAMVILLE's ROTD3 ALBUM OUT NOW!! ::]

Not tryna hate on Wale, but 150 isnt that good considering all the hype surrounding the entire month.
Wale was mentioned a lot even with Kanye and Coles buzz.
Ambition did 164...so technically 150 is losing a few fans, not really progressing.

Dude gonna celebrate a "#1" album though with Rozay, even though he had literally 0 competition this week

Its all good tho. Wale is still my dude.
Hoping for a Mixtape about Nothing 3.

Still enjoying the album. Not a classic by any means, but a definite improvement over the Sideline Story.

I thought that Land of The Snakes sample sounded familiar, but couldnt figure out from where. Did some research and re-discovered the Art of Storytelln by Outkast

You don't listen to Kast?

I thought them was ya boys, I thought they was ya folk?

I listened to the album once... me personally he has about 5 good songs on there..

too much back and forth in between verses where he wants to spit about positivity but lacks the punch to take it over the top and say what he truly wants to say.. Some dope beats but could've been better if he didnt limit his sound...

Im gonna smoke and dub  and bump this album next week.. hopefully I'll have a different opinion

I go to every cole show when he's in my city and I feel like this one for the born sinner tour will be boring as **** because the songs just don't have you hype. When he performed grown simba and before I'm gone i would go crazy. This new album just doesn't do that for me. Before k dot came out they all seemed bored as ****.

iLLest!

 I see what you're saying though. It's going to be interesting because unlike Ye, he doesn't have records on this Born Sinner that seem like will translate well to the concert arena. I doubt he'll perform strictly Born Sinner material. At least I hope not.

I do plan on pulling some strings and hitting the show in LA once the tour hits here though.

Man I don't know about you guys but im HYPED to see TROUBLE, SHE KNOWS, VILLUMINATI, MO MONEY, POWER TRIP, RUNAWAY, and MISS AMERICA LIVE.

Those with some loud speakers...mannnnnn.... bout to be crazyyyy.
Obviously the whole album wouldn't be hype in a concert venue, but those right there....those should be :wow: :pimp:

Crowd gonna be hyped man... guaranteed.
"TAKE YOU TO THE PROMISE LAND, YOU DONT WANT PROBELMS...I PROMISE MANNNN" :smokin

and that She Knows beat on some loud speakers??? :x
CANT....WAIT. :smokin

He's already said that for all the Dollar & a Dream shows he's pretty much only doing the older joints from Warm Up, FNL, maybe a couple off SLS.  Saw both NYC shows and the only song he did off BS was Power Trip and Crooked Smile.

Most the songs from Born Sinner just don't seem like they'd be that great live... :nerd:

Cole NEEDS to do Higher, The Blow Up, Who Dat, Grown Simba, at every show he does.

Man the first time I saw Cole, when he did Dollar and a Dream II, Premeditated murder, Relaxation, Dead Presidents 2, Welcome, The Badness, Can I Live, Grown Simba, Won't Be Long, Who Dat, The Blow Up, Higher, and whatever other songs he did that I can't remember, show was SOOOOOOOOOO :smokin

He performed Forbidden Fruit in Houston though right?
I think he only performed it in houston because kdot was the surprise guest,
the dollar and a dream show was crazy cause he was taking request. he ended up performing lost ones and 2 face because people were asking for it

Ahh, makes sense. Really wish i could've witnessed it live.

i feel like villuminati, power trip, mo money, trouble, she knows, crooked smile, chaining day, & forbidden fruit would all be great live. mix that in with some warm up, fnl, sideline story, & feature tracks & born sinner would be a good tour :nthat:

Couple pages back I brought up how Cole can rap but he doesn't have that WOW factor. Then was asked who I listen to. Kendrick has the WOW factor while being just as lyrical as Cole. I'm a huge Cole fan. But like I said by the end of the deluxe edition I found I was only waiting for it to get over rather than enjoy it. I think unfairly I compare him to FNL which was perfect.

im with you...dudes are being to skeptical for me

the tracks you mentioned from the album will be fine except maybe Villuminati, its too much rapping... but I would add Rich N(I could easily see the crowd chanting, "I HATE RICH N. GOT DAMNNIT!") and N Know from the album as well. Then he will prolly include some material from the Truly Yours series i.e Chris Tucker, Head Bussa

The tour will be fine.

I could see Trouble and She Knows being great live performances. Still Kenny Lofton should have made that the album that beat is too :smokin

Album was awesome :pimp: could honestly to the whole thing on repat besides Let nas down :rolleyes...it felt out if place IMO

Just listened to Born Sinner in my second attempt to fairly judge J.Cole's music.  Can't say I'm a fan.  Not a bad album, but nowhere close to great.  Runaway was good and a couple other tracks that were aight, few lines that raised an eyebrow.  I know he's trying to bring back the essence, to me there seems to be an element missing.  Yeezus as a whole was no better, but the few tracks on Yeezus that were good were way more listenable than Cole's whole album.  J.Cole has great potential but still no where close to his peers in terms of lyricism (Kendrick) or song making ability (Drake).
