9. Lastly, is the album still looking for a summer release?

Yeah. All depends how the single does and the next single. It’s the official
single. I like it because I feel like its something the fans can brag about. We
knew when we put it out, its not like a number one. We weren’t aiming for the
charts but its something that’ll get my core fan base excited and get more fans.
I feel like Jay had a perfect single selection. From ‘DOA’ to ‘Run This Town’
all led up to ‘Empire State of Mind’ perfectly. I wanna kinda try to follow,
it’ll be ill, because ‘DOA’ and even ‘Run This Town’, people was like I dunno
how its gonna do but it was all leading up to ‘ESM.’
That makes sense, makes a lot of sense.
Also, sounds like he has something big in store ...

not really. The beat of Over is more than 51% of the damn appeal to the song. Who Dat sounds like something Nas will end up picking for his next LP and continue his trend of having depressing album cuts.

Seriously can you just go back to the Drake thread.

You already destroyed the Drake thread with all the slurping can you please not destroy this one.

I like the damn J Cole song...Ive played it maybe 15 times already in iTunes...its just boring as hell. Thats the point. You want people to pay for this? This song? This is what you want people to start judging you by? C'mon...it should have been stronger and i'm not the only one who thinks that way.  You're lying if you think otherwise. "B_ I got that flame"...thats not even catchy...come on now. Doesn't take away form the fact its a good song, but this ...this ain't the one.
What am I doin’?
Oh, yeah, that’s right, I’m doin’ me

[font=arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif]right, cus this is so much more catchy.

Actually, it really doesn't. See, the problem with this logic is that J.Cole isn't Jay-Z, so He can't follow the same format. Jay-Z can do that because he's HUGE, and people will listen, download, and buy the single(s) regardless of whether its catchy or not. J.Cole by many standards, isn't nearly big enough to use the same strategy that Jay-Z, or even a Drake can

Exactly. Dudes in here acting like I don't want J Cole to succeed. I'd want nothing else for him to be the champion of dudes just spitting in the mainstream again...but dude is messing up if this is his mentality...Hell of a single...

. If ya'll weren't so concerned with winning his fans over you'd admit I was right. Real will recognize real. I know hes talented but this. was. not. it.

I think it's more of the fact that you ride Drake so hard. At first, I didn't want to believe it, but you putting Over before Who Dat is blatant penis jockery.

I'm sick of Drake talking about his haters and how crazy his life is now. And that hook? Terrible. I'd rather hear Cole's "who dat."

And as for his format, how do you know what he has in store? If anything, this is probably his street single.

Cole is no dummy.

Saw him perform at UMD 2 days ago. He brought out Wale and the place went wild....

When we were leaving, the police directed us to this hallway and what do you know, he rolls through with his groupies.

Me and my cousin dapped him up and I asked him when his album dropping, and he said August.

I was hype for it, but relistening it was OK.

He seemed a bit nervous, and was rushing through his bars.... 3.5/5
