Aside from adding his verse to Best Friend what did he do to the beat? Sounds just like it did on Missy's album. Still is a banger though.

What's complaint ya'll have about the samples? It doesn't sound right? That Kanye album really does have you dudes not thinking clearly.

Expectations have been raised.

Cole is really setting the bar high for his debut. If these, as well as The Warm Up, are just mixtape songs, I can't even imagine the artillery he's saving for the album.

if he put out lackluster music, you could ask this. but he rarely puts out songs that i dont like. And what has being on RocNation done cept cause you to give it that first listen?

and the songs on the Warm up were made before he signed...u like those right? exactly.

I really only checked out the Warm Up because he was signed to Roc Nation. You'd be lying to think that the Jay-Z cosign didnt force you to look deeper into what he was offering and accept it more.

to look deeper? no , cause i never heard of him till the signing. peeped his music and liked it. end of story.

did you know obie trice before em?
Kanye before Jay?
b sig?
F!!! did you listen to Em before Dre? 50?

music wit a meaning (he's not even a mainstream "type" artist) is not hard to resonate wit someone(me) who actually likes lyrics with a message. Word to Lupe, Beautiful struggle Talib.

Jay's cosign only affects average listeners. I don't care who Jay cosigns. Just cuz he the greatest don't mean he's the only one who recognizes dope music. Son been nice way before Jay, and would be great if no one cosigned him. Tip never had any affiliation with any established artists, and that's why it took him until King to blow. So it takes time, but greatest eventually prevails.

I swear you just be rambling to ramble son. You like starting obscure subjects just to converse with yourself.

I am a Jay fan but Cole signing to Roc Nation had nothing to do with me checking for his music.  I heard "I get up" and thought it was a dope song and then checked out the Warm Up.  I was really impressed because like jthagreat I like lyrics with a message and I have been hooked ever since.

And I agree with TrappStar that Jay's co-signs only affects average listeners/casual hip-hop fans.  Those who are out looking for good hip-hop would have stumbled across Cole anyways.

I've played the mixtape a few times and I really like it. It is hard for me to say that it is better than The Warm Up but it may be as it is really close. I like the fact that you can see the progression of Cole rapping and producing over each mixtape.

There really are no wack joints on here. I think the only song I am not really feeling but alot of you seem to be is "2 Face". Standout tracks for me are "Too Deep For The Intro", "Before II'm Gone", "You Got It", "Enchanted" (Arguably my favorite track on the mixtape), "Autograph", "Home For the Holidays"!

Its a damn dope mixtape that I am sure I will be bumping hard for awhile. I have no doubt at all that at the worst his album will be very good.

First thing I ever heard Cole on was Wales back to the Future mixtape. On Rather be with you. I then went and downloaded the Warm Up and was blown away. I had no idea who he was or that he had any affiliation with Jay.

Man I remember last year when the Back to the Topic freestyle dropped I was trying to tell me friend how good Cole is and how good he was gonna be. And he just kept going, nope Wale is the best of the new class.

A year later and dude LOVEs Cole. He's putting out mix tapes better than dudes albums. Nobody is seeing Cole right now.

Exactly.

And to be honest, I heard The Come up pretty close to when it dropped and thought it was nice. Then The Warm Up dropped and I had'nt even heard that he signed with Roc Nation and thought it was one of the best mixtapes I've ever heard.

With or without Jay, shouldnt matter, dude is the truth.

 COLE WORLD!!
man i slept on buying my tickets went to buy them today and sold out

if anyone got extras like 4 of em get at me please!!!

The label need to stop playing this guy is dropping too many album worthy material That he keep saying is not making the album these are "sound bites" or "i'm holding songs back". I have no idea how grown simba, losing your balance and this whole mixtape are not keepers. They need to stop playing and let him drop his classic

This guy improves every mixtape

I understand what the label did. Cole has managed to develop a loyal fan base, however, the group remains rather small, so deciding to drop a stable of quality tracks when his name is finally on the cusp of broad recognition, is actually a pretty legit tactic to develop momentum leading up to his album's release.
