[:: J. COLE THREAD | DREAMVILLE's ROTD3 ALBUM OUT NOW!! ::]

Lights please has an extra verse to it and as mentioned, A video has already been shot for it awhile ago. Good move imo. With him releasing a debut, this is going to potentially reach several new listeners, many of whom will have this as being their first time listening to a J. Cole Project. Lights Please is going to be in essence, "brand new" to a lot of people who buy the album. Also, its one of his most popular songs, so it makes sense in that way as well.

Some dude from jcolenation.com was at the listening session in tampa.. heres a recap of what was said
Spoiler [+]
I know this my first post in here so yall dont gotta believe me, but i was in the tampa listening session. I wanted to say that someone on page 39 is correct. The album is FLAWLESS as long as he keeps it the way he played it for us. I also wanna say dont worry about whether trey songz is or isnt featured on a track. Cuz, if he is, IF... he doesnt sound like himself and it may or may not have come out %+%#*@! GREAT. this album will be a legendary debut.

yall missed something you cant predict and i can't say specifically...BUT... u need to add a 3rd candidate..a 3rd female candidate who can sing her %#! off and did amazing in album sales lately. but due to our type of music...you wouldnt think of her being with cole

I can assure you its not Miguel

the album is flawless with 0 commercial tracks besides work out (sorta commercial) and i must say i never knew cole was THAT great of a producer.

jay hadnt laid a verse yet when he played the track. beat was insane, cole came hard as hell of course. ill tell u this, i have maybe one or two favorites on the album. the whole album is so damn solid that there wasnt a single complaint or negative thing said the whole time. i have 2 favorites and theyre both cuz the beat was so insane. u wont skip a single track on it. he really is bout to drop a classic...even jay knows it

cole not looking for a feature just to build hype. he went for 100% quality on the album and i think he did the right thing. the only and most commercial sounding track on the album IS work out. if he does use the songs he told us would be the next 2 singles, yall will see wut i mean. the album...is just that CRAZY. after the CT listenin party hopefully someone on here wins it and will confirm what im talkin about. i havent bought an album since the cool. i will have at least 3 copies of this. 1 autographed, 1 for the whip, 1 to promo out to someone who didnt know any better and spread the word.

verses other than jay z? nope. hooks were all on point, i literally didnt have a single negative thing to say bout his album except the release date is too far away. thats the ONLY negative.

and adele is wishful thinking. theres a reason theres only 2 features left but 3+ candidates. the music industry sucks really and some of these artists are %#!%%%**#*+!, even with cole. everything thus far is "wishful thinking" till the cd is pressed.

skits? i wouldnt be able to answer that cuz he didnt PLAY any persay, but he could add those in easily in 10 minutes u kno? the intro... smh. the intro is not to be %*#!%% with. AMAZING. long as he keeps it the way he played it for us, the intro is actually a song. completely different from FNL

He went from good producer and top 5 out to my absolute favorite rapper undisputed and one of the illest producers out right now. The album is not to be %*#!%% with. Y'all shouldn't worry bout the remaining features much tho cuz he don't need em at all! The album could be shipped the way it is and be perfect. I just hope jayz don't mess with it and cole sticks to his own plan.

(the trey song)it shines. Its not what anyone expects when they hear ft trey. Ill tell u that much. Funny story is, the hook was an accident cole said. Cole hated it. Jayz said how can he possibly hate this? And it grew on him after a while

(someone asked about why cole hated the trey hook) Cuz it happened afterwards. He reached out to trey with a already demoed hook. He just wanted trey to redo it. Trey put a spin on it and sung it diff than cole had expected n cole said he didn't like it at first but jay said cole was trippin and then it grew on him. No its not commercial. Workout is the closest thing to commercial were gonna get

The intro he showed us made everyone sit up and applaud. We didn't expect it either. But his intro and outro r so right for wut the album is

Like A Star is NOT the outro

Honestly...the album is so well rounded consistent and solid that I love all the tracks seriously. Two stood out to me only cuz the production was so crazy. But that's all. And I can't name them either

^I wish he could have given a bit more specific info like track names but I understand why. Dude seems really excited about the album after that listening session and thats good to read. Hopefully other sources confirm this listening session soon.

There was def a listening session.. Coles boy confirmed it on twitter

KingOfQueenz Ibrahim H.

Shout out to the 20 people in Tampa that just heard the album, Shout out to WILD 94.1 they always show the most love

Heres the guys twitter.. http://twitter.com/#!/tekniquepro
He was asked to confirm it was him buy saying Return Of Simba and he did so.. If you go back in his timeline you can find him talking about heading to the listening session.

I'm trying to figure out the next possible feature he was talking about.. "female candidate who can sing her %#! off and did amazing in album sales lately"

Doesn't it say right in the Review that it isn't Adele???

Big Female singers recently are:
Gaga
Rihanna
Taylor Swift
Ke$ha(

)
Britney
Katy Perry

I didn't include Beyonce, because that seems to predictable..

I'm read the review in a min...

Far as the singer goes, my first thought was Jill Scott...she just had the number 1 album in the country and is straight up neo-soul

An Adele feature is definitely dope. I like the fact that this album will have limited features and I like the features that are on scheduled to be onthere. To be honest I wasn't too crazy about hearing that Trey was featured on the album at first but I have faith in Cole that he will make it work.

Still wish it was Adele. She sings better than everyone on that list and of that list I'd guess the "sing her #%$ off" chick would be Gaga plus she always does good in record sales.

I don't even really think of Beyonce when I think of really good rap/r& collabs anyway.

I can't picture a track with any of those artists besides Rihanna & Beyonce..

What about Erykah Badu?

That'd be a dream. I can see a very smooth dope track coming from that collaboration.

She doesn't necessarily fit the description mentioned though.

I hope Katy Perry

but dude said no pop radio so I doubt it

still I dont care what anyone says Perry makes hits

and an excuse to get her on a music video is fine by me

It would be great if he had adele on the album. Tracks like Do Ya Like and Hometown Hero sound dope with the Adele samples and to have her on an official Hip-Hop track would be wicked.

How High is just so damn smooth

He absolutely KILLS it on Lost Ones.

It's a Cole, Cole world. Rap is in good hands.
