Like how does this work? How does it still have life?
The song was already old when he added it to FNL. Drake verse is why the label wants it on there. To throw the sticker on there that reads "FEAT DRAKE, TREY SONGZ, JAY-Z" so more ppl can maybe buy the album.

I cant sit here and believe that J. Cole really wants this record on his album, when he said for so long how he didnt want any rap features, among multiple other reasons

i think if he does really want to put the record on the album its because he cant make that type of record again, and needs it for balance. I only say that because I read that he said "workout" was the most difficult record for him to make and now that may be a bonus

I agree with everything you wrote.

I think it can still have an impact on his sales and appeal, though. I already know the music is going to be good on the album...I'm more worried about how well he does because that'll ultimately determine how lone of a run he has. I have no problem with the song, and I think it'll help create more mass appeal for him.

16 tracks including an interlude. Still don't understand the reasoning on putting In The Morning on the album.. 12 new songs for me, Going to try my hardest to not listen to Can't Get Enough till the album drops now
Lights Please, In The Morning, Lost Ones (or 'Track 13'), Can't Get Enough, Work Out, and an interlude. Looks like 10 new songs for me...I hope unleashes those songs that he gave snippets of during his USTREAM before/right after the album release.

Correct!

^^^That's a good way to look at it, but I took it as more of vulnerability thing, and the fact that nobody actually checked their facts about Jay-Z
saying that. There's loads of people who already think J.Cole is a cornball, so people don't need to get any more ammo to back that up.

How the hell could J.Cole even let this story get out???
Whats bad about this story? Cole is actually showing how someone misconstrued facts in reporting the initial story. If anything the fact of him saying this shows people to be more careful about what they read and to consider what is accurate and inaccurate.
i knew this would happen. attribute this to lazy/thirsty writers and bloggers and lazy readers
story came from rap-up.com who had an interview with Cole. All ppl had to do was read the article and see Cole was saying what Rich Kleiman told him after he was with Jay one night.

blogs just took the shhh and ran with it.

I just had to add these

Oh ok I see what you are saying and I get the concern about Cole's image...he got caught in a bad situation with misinformation sadly.  Hopefully people look at that before they judge him but I hear you that those who don't like him will just use this as ammo even though it really doesn't correlate.

I love how people are already saying that Jay isn't going to give Cole a verse when they have no idea whether he will or not.  I have no reason to believe that he won't however I do agree with Cole that Jay doesn't owe him a verse and I have always liked as an artist that he has that mentality which I believe Jay actually respects.
