I think something like him lacing up his kicks, or this same pic, but take him out, and just his warm up jacket hanging off the bench is what I was expecting.
 
How can one unproven artist be so loved and hated at the same time?

It is unequivocally impossible for The Sideline Story to live up to the hype of his core fans.
It is unrealistic to think that it will garner any attention at all from the rest of the world.

Forget illmatic, this album would have to be Illmatic, Stillmatic, Reasonable Doubt AND The Blueprint all in one.

There's no time for a MASSIVE single to develop from this album, so unless that song with Trey Songs or Feel Better get it done for him, I'm calling another Greatest Story Never Told. Critically acclaimed, commercially panned.
 
dude was never set up to commerically perform well though

why is that even on the table for him? Why are ppl gonna hold him to that indicator of success, when he has never made a crossover record?

Its gon be so much uproar when he comes out and lord willin cracks 50k in sells first week. The same ppl that say he is wack boring etc are gonna act like he is a complete failure before (if at all) giving the album a fair chance.
 
^ yeah its gonna be a #$%$ storm of cole slander when the album drops if this album doesn't sell well. Some people just straight up be going in on him like dude piped their girl. @#$# is kinda overboard at times. I'm hoping he cracks 100k first week even though I don't really know how realistic that is.

Hopefully he sells more than Ace Hood because I have already clowned on a few people about that.

Kid Cudi barely got 100k (or was right around it, If I remember correctly) with Day N Nite playing every hour on the radio. First week sales are the dumbest statistics in music. Maybe it meant something when you HAD to buy the hard copy to hear something "on time", but not now in a day and age when we download 90% of everything we hear. Those numbers are skewed now. And with a guy like J. Cole, ONLY his core fans will buy the album because they know what dude can bring to the table, when the rest of the casual hiphop listeners definitely do not.
 
I'm going to the Cole show tonight and I figured I should listen to Can't Get Enough since he's started performing it.... track is

i dunno whatever happened with the Jay verse and he didnt mention drake as a feature..but he also speaks on the other feature with the female mc.

a couple ppl may know who it is by now, a couple previews of the album werent that intricate for me

i think it will be dope, her debut was one of my favorite albums as a youngin ( if it is who i think)
