So I feel that everybody should hold their judgement until the album comes out, leaks, or whatever because we'll know he held nothing back.

QFT.
when i had the chance to chop it up wit Krit he said he had to pour everything into his last two releases(KWH n R4) because one, kwh he felt like it was his last shot and he was on the verge of quitting rap and R4 because he had to show ppl that it wasnt a fluke and wanted them to know they can make and investment in him as an artist

Cole i think has been saving his best material for the album. on FNL i felt like it was 4 maybe 5 album worthy tracks Enchanted, Too Deep for the Intro, Cost me a Lot, 2Face cuda been a few more. but still he been riding the bench and dealing with alot and the pressure on dude is unbelievable so i think his best bet was to hold on.

I want to like him so bad. In my opinion he doesn't seem to have that "IT" factor about him and his music. Sure his production and lyrics are cool but something just seems kinda off to me which keeps him from being great in my eyes.

I'll wait for the album and see. Workout video was booty though.

Really another country rapper, rapping about country $*%# and some people think he's the future smh...

So basically, for the people who have called J.Cole boring and corny, you gave an equally lame non-factual rebuttal about Big KRIT...

I personally prefer KRIT over J.Cole for a couple of reasons. I'm real big on flow & delivery, cause you could be loaded with great content, but if you have an off delivery and a flow that's not there, than it doesn't even matter. To me, J.Cole can spit, and has made quite a few good songs, but he seems very monotone just after a couple tracks, like he's trying to force his rhymes, and really just rapping loud (similar to Drake, Big Sean, and Meek Mill). KRIT on the other hand has this easy effortless flow, and is also loaded with just as much content as J.Cole, but you may not feel him just cause you may not be from the south to relate to anything, but even with that, you should still feel every bit of what he's saying cause it's not really a region favortism thing. Now I do thing Cole has had to hold himself back a bit just cause he's been to the drawing board and back, but it's good his album will finally be coming out (which I didn't originally believe).

To the person who asked why did Cole include some mixtape tracks instead of replacing them with new ones, I'm guessing that if he tried replacing them, he'd be set for another pushback, and he just wanted to be able to get his album out without any more delays.

Why are ppl complaining about TWO mixtape songs that are gonna be on the album? There's 17 songs total and yall complaining about TWO, even with the two singles o top of those that still leaves you with 13 new songs

Why do you guys ask for facts to support your views? There's really no such things as "facts," only opinions when it comes to music.

You can cite specific lines and other people's opinions as your evidence, but in the end it's all opinion.

Numbers are the closest thing to "fact" but who really takes stock in those anymore?
Cole World: The Sideline Story Hit By Recent Sample Issue
J. Cole is having a harried moment. Hours before our scheduled interview, the rising North Carolina MC learned that a sample on the opening track of his debut LP, Cole World: The Sideline Story, hasn’t cleared. The release date is a month away.

“It’s heartbreaking that [re-recording] has gotta happen,

well from reading the article, i think that issue was taken care of. He tweeted the tracklist and all that Sunday. the concert they referenced was from that Thursday before.

I really dont understand why dudes go out of their way to hate on the kid. How can you hate on a talented. humble mc? I dont think i've ever heard something wack from Cole. Seriously, I know NT is filled with teenyboppers who would sleep with Wiz or BasedGod if they had the chance, but damn didnt know it was this bad. Please report yourself if youre a long time hip-hop listener and hate on Cole, and please explain why.

So true. Cole is so damn talented and super humble. Easily my favorite rapper at the moment. I never thought his album would actually release, it's gonna be pretty cool to see it in stores. Will be buying a copy.

Everyone has an opinion on how they feel about certain artists so I'm not calling you a hater, but why waste your time telling us this if you think he's corny, or doesn't have "it". First time I ever listened to him I didn't even know he was signed to Rocnation, so there goes one of your theorys.
At the end of the day everything you just expressed is opinions, not facts.

I know damn well if someone asked me if I was the best at what I did I'd say you're damn right, it's called having self confidence.

P.S. Fake grunts may not mean anything to you but they get you places, just ask Rick Ross. UNGH!!!

I never understood this.
Whats wrong with expressing my distaste for an artist?

Should the only opinions expressed be in support of that craft?

I think not.

I think hes overrated. End of story.

I'm sorry...but is anyone really thinking hes the best new rapper out right now?

I'd put KRIT so far ahead of him its not even funny.

Hes very corny to me.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the Roc Nation co-sign I would be willing to put serious cash on it, that NO ONE would be checking for him. He would be Mickey Factz status...or *insert random blog rapper*

Dude just doesn't have "it"...and "it" doesn't mean catchy singles or choruses. He's just boring and its starting to show. None of his features are that great and he hasn't delivered since his feature on "Star is Born"...

Fake grunts and aggression on tracks doesn't mean anything to me. Its contrived and you can clearly tell. Most of his fans are fans of nostalgia, not his actual talent.

Go ahead and support this fella, I know you all will...just know that you'll end up ranking it higher than it deserves to be.

It will be just like FNL... hot for the week it drops and then

I find it interesting that those who dislike Cole generally label him "corny" or "boring" but then have no examples to support either statement.
Again, there is no pleasing critics...Ha. Nothing I say will legitimize my argument in your eyes so i'll say this and hopefully i'll be done.

I state my opinion then you come back with the "well where are your facts?" you'll do it time after time.

Every song he has dropped as a single or something to get buzz just sounds SUPER average and corny. He hasn't found himself. Hes trying to use all these stupid voice inflections to emphasize that hes talented by some means... It seems people force themselves to like his stuff because they want him to win so bad instead of actually feeling a connection to the material. Seems dishonest to me.

"girl yah MEEEAAAANNN"...

Like really dude?

The problem with clowns like you is that you judge him off his attempt at radio singles. Most Cole fans listen for CONTENT in music. Clowns like you (Kanye/Wayne fans) don't listen for content. "He hasn't found himself."
laugh.gif
laugh.gif
You mean he hasn't found a way to please mainstream clowns like yourself. If you actually listen to lyrics, you'd know that Cole easily knows who he is.

You clown Cole for saying "girl yah meeeeean" (I don't know what song he said that in), but I bet you praise an idiot like Kanye West who always says "HEHHHH!!!" Really dude.

Keep reaching with the Cole hate. At the end of the day, nobody is touchin' him on the mic right now.

And at the end of the day, you can't name 10 better rap songs than "Farewell" or 20 better rap songs than "Before I'm Gone."

And as for your comment about we're only ridin' with Cole because of the Roc Nation co-sign? Please.

Jay-Z is my favorite rapper, and easily the greatest rapper ever.

Does that mean I'm inclined to rock with Kanye?

%!+# no.

I think Kanye West is worse than awful.

And you lames need to quit talkin' about the "it" factor.

Stop disguising that factor and saying you can't put your finger on it.

The "it factor" you're referring to is a gimmick.

That's why we like Cole. It's straight hip-hop, no gimmicks.

Clowns need gimmicks to attract attention.

Casual rap listeners don't listen to lyrics. They listen to a rapper's ability to sell them on a gimmick, rather than the content itself.

J. Cole is not gonna tell people to drop out of college.

J. Cole is not "the white rapper that could."

J. Cole doesn't need to tell people he's "the best rapper alive."

He doesn't need a gimmick. I understand that clowns don't listen to lyrics, and need to be attracted to a fabricated gimmick. Sorry, but you're listening to the wrong rapper.

"It factor"

What's this I hear about Rihanna being mad at Jay? Isn't she under Rocnation management?

I ask this because she tweeted to vote for Barker on that espn contest vs. Cole..

I like how Rihanna & Travis Barker himself were tweeting about the espn contest but Cole still won. He didn't even tweet about it

I normally don't listen to the radio but I was in my boys car the other day and heard work out on there. We switched to another station when the song was over and it was on again

^LOL word?

Son didnt give damn about it, his beat was actually better tho...they prolly steered more ppl there n they ended up voting for him lol

Cole is going to surprise a lot of people with the numbers he does with this project. His fanbase is bigger than a lot of people give him credit for.

i wanna agree but what kind of surprise are you talking? 100-125k first week would be surprising and shocking to alot of people if u ask me.
Im thinking 50-80k are reasonable expectations.

I mean if Ace Hood can do 30k, Im sure Cole can clear that easy
