It's funny to me cuz I can hear Ye on this saying a whole bunch of slick shh way more than what Cole did with it and even though Jay did his thing this song is not memorable.

Glad I'm not the only one that got the WTT vibe from this track.

Please.

I aint calling Ye the better rapper but he's better suited for a beat like this. Dude just jumps on the track and says a bunch of slick shh nothing amazing or super lyrical just the usual. A whole bunch of that on WTT. IMO Cole didn't really pull it off, 1st verse kinda fell flat.

Nothing is wrong with changing your sound "growing" or "expanding" as long as it sounds good. If your first few tries don't sound that good leave it on a mixtape or put it on the shelf. When you got a dope song showcasing that "growth" and expansion go ahead. Wiz drastically switched his style up and it worked quite effortlessly. I see ppl talking about not feeling the beat but to me the hook is weak. I can't help but think of the reaction to this song without Jay on it.

Reading what Cole wanted and what Jay went with it seems Jay was already in his own zone from WTT and that sound so he picked the beat that sounded like a WTT track to help Cole out.  So it seems more about helping get more radio play than him growing as an artist. nothing wrong with experimenting but if it aint that good be honest about it.

EDIT

Like some of what I heard from the snippets

As already said definitely not mainstream, wasn't worried about that though.

Honestly, I'm not even just saying this because Cole's in that spread but that bomber jacket is

Really can't wait for the 27th. Considering all the songs I have heard I hope Mr. Nice Watch is my least favorite on the album, but with that being said it's just a song with a different purpose. If that came on in the club or when bumped in the whip, it definitely serves its purpose

Highly recommend his shows. His attitude was like it his final performance ever.

God's Gift sounded dope as hell!!

To see that many ppl rocking w dude down here really surprised me tho. his stage presence was on point, confident as hell on the stage...w a fuggin boot on his foot.  To first see him opening up for Hov in 09 n only like 10 of us knowing him in the whole arena to doing his thing as the star of show is dope.
