Laker Haters & Kobe Haters Call To Arms! (The Haters Unification Thread)

^ Nothing else?

I'm pretty sure Kobe ranks top 15 in missed shots and turnovers.

(Also, while I'm with the Kobe criticism, I'm all for accuracy. Kobe is #14 in steals.)

All time Kobe is first in missed shots (and still going) and 4th in turnovers (behind Karl Malone, Jason Kidd and a surprising John Stockton - I suppose it's because of 19 years at a high level).

No, it comes from about 15 years of horrible, forced decisions.

He's hardly played the last 3 years and his first year.

Wherever you got your info, where does Kareem rank all time on TOs? And where does Kobe rank in turrnovers per game, (if it has that)?

It's Stockton I was surprised about - Kobe makes total sense.

Kareem is 46th for turnovers - with about 2500 cf. almost 4000 for Kobe.

I can't see tpg - Kareem had 1.62 and Kobe has 3.00 so far.

I'm not sure I'd use that as a measure of greatness - Magic is a little lower on the list due to less games but he had 3.87 per.

He's top 11 or so in 3's.

So 3 categories, same as Duncan. Which debunks the new Doo's worthless point.

Stats like that are position specific. (Come with the territory)

Power hitters hit home runs, and strike out.
PG's get ton of assists, and turnovers, cuz ball is in their hands every possession.

Play a long time, totals stack up. Malone, Kidd, Stock, Kobe, Bron, Magic, Isiah etc are guys that will have long careers, and turn it over 2-3 times a night.

Guys that are marginal players won't have ball, or play long enough to lead a list like that.

Ska actually pointed one of the inaccuracies out, I just added another.

This is the hate thread, but be accurate when you hate at least.

Yeah, that's true. If you look at the turnovers list it's not far off the 50 greatest - it's usage and longevity combined so you would expect turnovers.

If it was turnovers per minute that might even be more telling. There's probably an even better way that weights it for usage or time of ball in hand or something but that's maybe going a bit far.

Per touch, maybe?

Russ has the ball 100 times in a game with 3 turnovers.
Kwame touches it 20 times, has 2 turnovers.

Raw stats say Russ is "worse" than Kwame.

Yeah, that's probably pretty good. I don't think there are 60 years of touch stats though - they didn't track a lot of stuff back then.

I did spot that Harden is averaging something like 4.5 per game this year which is pretty brutal.

Whatever stat shows Kobe in the top 10 of TOs, I'm with it, especially if it has Magic and Kidd outside of it.

No doubt, it's impossible to track olden days. They probably can now tho.

It's a relative thing.

Yeah, so Kobe is top 15 in

28th in assists

But yeah, only scoring was the original post. Nothin else

Most of those "categories" Duncan in the top 15 of them too not mention having higher defensive ratings.

And you know damn well, when stat categories are discussed they are basically talking about the top 5....points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals maybe PER gets brought up sometimes.
