Im not talking about wealthy status either......I say between $45k-$60k? I say this because I make $50k a year. I live in a fixed income 3 BR apartment. I owna nice car (Scion TC lol) and I have 2 kids and we are doing very well. I save a decent amount every month........which leaves me this question.........doesanybody live a decent life with not a high salary?

Where do you live?

I am in Atlanta and Make 40-45k per year.
It takes a special person to grind.

Edit: I'm not content...but I am not miserable either.

Truthfully I don't care about anything besides traveling, if I could travel to new places 3 times a year I would die a content person.

I just wanna be successful so I can travel the world.

Seems like you understand what life is all about.
Too many times people work long hours in pursuit of money to buy themselves material things that don't even really matter.
As long you are comfortable and happy, you are good.
Props to you sir.

as long as i always have food on the table and never miss meal. have family close by. i'm happy and love life!!

far from content. i have a LOT of moves to make, I'm far from my potential job now, but I'm definitely grateful. It could be worse.

not everyone can be super rich but we are living in a capitalism, if you have the opportunity to earn more and you feel that it is worth it (that's a big"if") then you should go for it. sometimes it's not worth the headache though.

plus, it's not about a salary, it's all about reality.

I make that much and I'm certainly not content and I'm only 23 w/ no kids. If I had two kids right now...I don't know what the hell I would do.

Money, cars, clothes, and big houses are all nice. But, it's not everything.

OP seems like if he had the choice of a huge house/cars and all that, he wouldn't give it up.

down south he's aight....especially if his wife/mother of his children is staying w/ him and she's bringing in a salary too

Im in VA.....yes she works as well......we have a beautiful apatment.....Im pretty much content. Maybe later on i'll save for a condo......and another car. However, that's a couple of years away.

pretty much around the portland, OR area too.. 45k to 60k you are doing pretty good... im pretty much in the same boat as you dude... we have a 01 accord and a05 MDX, 2 kids, and i live in a apartment... but it doesnt feel like im doing my job as a father/husband until im completely satisfied with what i want toaccomplish for my family and thats buy a house....
but we are looking to buy a house this year though... i gotta take advantage of that obama plan...

how old are the kids? i'd wait til theyre old enough to not tear up the house/condo. my parents did that with us, three boys lived in apartments til wewere all atleast 10 years old. then they bought their dream home (which is still a tiny home by today's standards)

where in the portland area are you? i have to agree w/ your statement because we live in the beaverton area.

my complaints about oregon are that the jobs don't pay the right wages out here. which is why we're moving to phoenix in august to find a leaseoption. we're in the streets of tanasbourne area and are doing okay (married and 2 kids). we're content but could be a little happier which is whythis school thing is almost done for both of us.
