Hey guys, I was checking out the si.com's article on the 50 highest paid athletes and Ray Allen came up.
His salary is near 20 mil but the thing that caught my eye was his endorsements were only at $750,000. Does that mean he's a JB member for less than amil/yr?

i guess so...which is kinda shocking b.c i would have thought he would have made a lot more...

Always a good read....I always find it interesting how flip flopped golf is vs. the major sports....Woods and Mickelson make 6-10 times more in endorsementsthan they do cashing tour winnings. Most major sports stars make 10-25 times more in salary than they do in endorsements (ARod, Teixeira come tomind)...except for the wild exceptions like LeBron, Jordan, Kobe, Shaq and some others.

Tiger came in at like 96 million which I believe is down from the past few years (thanks recession).

too bad for Allen because I loved his 'team strong' sneaker from a few years ago. After everything he has done in his career on and off the court hedeserves more love from Jordan brand.

Definitely thought Ray Ray was makin more den dat.... way more than I got though! lol

750k to rock some pretty nice PE's (Allen's XX3's PE's

)....sounds like a good dealto me.

I thought he would make way more than 750k
But sometimes they give Ray some ugly Team Jordan pe's

When you think of PE's who first comes to mind? RAY ALLEN.

Getting custom Jordans alone is Perfect for me

Ray Allen is lucky to being wearing Jordan Brand Kicks. Like have a hot pair of shoes that matches with your team jersey and shorts. People on his teamprobably envy him.

I think Nike paid him about right. From a personal prospective, I don't feel too many people outside of the sneaker community see what he is wearing andthen are so impressed that they go buy a pair of those Jordans (most likely in a different colorway as his are usually PE's). Thusly yea $750K to wear somenew jordans every game and not have to wear the team shoe is a major plus. I think Ray's playing days are limited and is hardly as marketable as he waswhen he was in Seattle or on the Bucks.

I think Jordan Brand should have made Dwayne Wade their new Jordan front man instead of have him with the Converse line. His Converses are always dirt cheap inthe clearance bins. He can't carry that brand - but would have been perfect for Jordan Brand. IMHO.

Eddie jones came into the grocery store I work at afew weeks back and was wearing pumas I fought so hard not to laugh but he's a really cool down to earthtype dude.

I figured Allen would be cakin way more thanthat though

Ray probably has a couple other endorsements in Boston also... I'm sure JB pays him less than the$750,000 to wear Air Jordan's...The players on Jordan Brand are chosen by MJ himself, and it's more about the PRESTIGE & HONOR of wearing the shoes& apparel, than what you will get paid to wear it...

wow! stevie franchise actually eraned more money than active nba players like vince, melo , pierce and lewis
