but be honest, i know you laugh when you see someone with shaq's on.. or some payless shoes.. its the same concept, just with a higher price tag

I've been laughed at for wearing J's before. I didn't care then, I don't care now, & I won't care when it happens again. I won'tlet the masses dictate to what I wear just because it's popular. J's could drop down to $30 like Shaq's, and if I like the shoe, it will bebrought. I grew up watching the man play in these sneaks & I can't forget that, so the shoes will always mean something more to me.

you're watching Kobe beast on the court, why dont you buy his shoes too?

MJ was one of my childhood hero's. Kobe isn't. I'm grown now. MJ is the GOAT & I was lucky enough to grow up watching him. As a kid I thought(& I'm pretty sure alot of others did too) I could be like Mike if I got the shoes. With me it all boils down to when I grew up. I grew up watchingMJ...not Kobe so it's like the shoes have a sense of history with me.

ok cool, so revisiting my point, kids are growing up watching Kobe, in 5, 10 years, they're gonna be gettin all the Kobe shoes because thatswho they grew up watching, and thats gonna be whats hot, think about it, its deja vu, with Kobe of course

Your 100% correct my friend. I know the day will come where J's are no longer the best basketball shoe to get & I'm fine with that, even though thebrand has survived 25 years. I'll continue to buy what I like (retro's & OG's) & this will never change. I'm gonna be that old dude inthe retirement home with some J's on despite them being popular or not.

If they went out of style, that would be better for me. More Jordans for me at a cheaper price

I'm in my 30's and have followed the brand since I 1st saw the AJ V....and have been interested by not only that shoe and several after, but by theidea that AJ's are kind of like bookmark's in my life...when a retro drops that I had when I was in, say college....it takes me back a bit to thosedays. I know many on this board are the same....this is why I don't think the Brand will ever go out of style. Even if we are getting sub-par retrosquality wise....people will still buy the shoes and the brand will always make money.

Just because a shoe doesn't sell out in a day or even a week across the country, it doesn't make it un-profitable. Retail 101 - Stores buy the shoesfrom JB @ cost....they then sell them @ retail. Once they go unsold for awhile they go on sale (usually still at a profit....just less). If no one buys, oftenan RTV happens (AJ2009). Every now and again, someone posts a retails sales report for a shoe category...and what do you know...JB usually has most or all ofthe top spots....and that's with the "&*^" fusions and team shoes....the brand knows fully that they can produce sales figures whenever theydeem necessary by actually giving us something that resembles what we actually want (a faithful retro in an OG colorway).....amazing business model if you askme....unlike any other in the world that I can think of....

yea but he's out the game, theres no more possible achievements he can make, for you to go out and buy the latest Jordan in stores..

this is why i only cop retros....
theres only so many retros you can cop..and by the time the good retros get put out, the shoe is butchered by a million other new colorways, I.E. the 1's

' older retros and there are soo many of them unless you have like 3/4s of a million dollars you cant cop them all soo thats what keeps it interesting...collecting doesn't necessarily mean you have to wear them... BTW whos to say you wont like newer retros? the dmp 1s for examplee lots of people like theblack/red joints..

I could care less whether jordans are "in style" or not. I feel like you have no style if you follow everything that's hot right now. I wear/buyjordans because I like them. Its not the price tag..its my sneaker taste. Its all about what YOU want to wear not what people are going to say or how they willlook at you or how you will be viewed by the "fashion police". Wear what you like is my point.

same thing for me im 23 years old and wearing jordans since 9 years old (bred ix) and still have over 90 jordans and people tell me to stop because is gettingplayed out and im like no i wear the shoes cause i love the history of each number shoe even the 2k9 and i wear them cause i love them so foever a jordan headscrew the rest

according to all the hypebeast in my area...jordans are out of style but thats not stoppin me
roll.gif
...more j's for me

What if the sky fell ,What if the sun burned out, What if Jordan returned to the nba, What if this was actually a good topic...

In general society, Jordans have been out of style...It's only the 1% of people whom are sneakerheads that still wear them...

I've been wearing Jordans since I was a kid in the early 90s. I will not be stopping anytime soon even if Jordans go out of style, and the new hottestthing is some supra x undftd x supreme x stussy x bape x lrg collabo

Nothing happens!

i dont care if they get out of style or like some say played out, or lose there value .

i will still be wearing them like i have since the early 90's
