Air Jordan 3 True Blue 2001 vs. 2009 Comparison

They look great. I'm not sure, if I want to wait for a possible US release or pull the trigger on a pair from HK.
 
Question I have, I have some 2001 that I should restore. Should I paint the blue all the way around or half way ?
 
great comparison. thanks for the pics. maybe its because they're newer, but i like the '09s better. of course they look much crispier for obviousreason, but the main reason i like the '09s is because of the shorter blue strip on the medial side which is how i remember the OGs. hopefully, these willhit the states sometime soon.

Got my 09's today. Just a notice to everyone thats coppin the 09's thas expecting them to resemble the 01's, They Dont. I took my DS 01's outand it was Over. The quality was hugely noticable. But im still happy with my 09's considering I dropped 160 shipped for em. Finally got a pair of TrueBlues to beat on. Bout to slide em on, slap the TMC Hardaway Jersey on and Im good to go.
 
i'm happy they finally re released these, and made them harder to cop...now i can break out my '01 retro's that have never seen the light ofday...and can keep my '09 retro's deadstock..thanks JB
 
To say the elephant print is darker on the 09's isn't really a legit comparison....

If they're anything like the 01 Retros, each shoe can be completely different when speaking about elephant print "boldness"....

Think of it this way:

There's a bunch of sheets which get stamped the elephant print pattern by a big machine. The sheets on top get a bolder print since it's closer to thestamp. The ones on bottom get a lighter print. Make sense?

Here's a comparison picture I took of both my 2001 black/cement III's. The one on the left is noticeably lighter than the right pair.

though i will still get a pair once these are released in the states. the other day I went to my local gamestop and saw some guy wearing the TB 3's and Iswear the first time I glanced at them they looked fake. The boldness of the elephant print is a little too much in my opinion. Though the inner midsole ismore true to the OG model,..I appreciate that the 2001 TB's have the extended blue on the inner midsole as they look much better this way in my opinion.
 
Starting to regret not copping these... still holding out for a US release!!!
