If you are referring to the 2003, i think the only thing that was screen on those jerseys were the stars (not 100% sure on that) everything else was twill.

but yes, im hoping they release the 2003 jerseys for all players. Jordan, AI, Kobe. maybe even others but those 3 would HAVE to get released, mainly Kobe.

They just think the thicker/heavier mesh will fool us in thinking the jersey is "high quality"

i agree about the mesh tho, they could easily replicate it but i think its more to do with different mesh for different eras? its easier for them to just use one mesh for all jerseys as just being mesh is accurate enough for them.
 
All they need to use is the real mesh and the material they used to wear in the 60's. But yeah, they are kinda tricking us with the high quality ****. It makes the jersey heavy af
 
I do agree the jerseys are stiff. I recently got a Magic Johnson jersey. It's the right size but fits tight because of the stiffness. But never really thought of that
