Official AUTHENTIC NBA JERSEY Post - Bringin Back the JERSEY ERA... (Info/Guide = Page 1)

thanks for the reply. Would you be able to explain  how its a replica.? Like idk much about the jerseys and such but I also couldnt find alot about champion brand so I though either its fake, or the style is different depending on the type. But with what you said id assume this would also we a replica if in fact it is? Idk I though the raptors had a matching color red stripe horizontally where the red neck collar part meets

There's 3 different tier-authentic,swingman,and replica.
Someone posted a good job of explaining it.

I'll add my .02 and anyone else please feel free to jump on board here...

Replica:
These seem to be more like cheaper mesh and cut almost like a sleeveless T-shirt rather than the cut of an actual jersey. The names and numbers are SCREEN PRINTED on, and many of the finer details of the jersey's are gone. Such as this LeBron...there is no side piping on the replica...

Swingman:
These are higher quality and not mesh, but not authentic Clima Cool or anything like that either. I think the cut of the jersey is pretty exact to the Pro/Authentic specifications. The name and numbers are screen printed twill meaning that they are sewn on, but if any of the letters or numbers have a 2 tone color as many of them do, the top layer of color is printed on top of the base color, complete with printed "stitching" and then the whole thing is sewn on. This jersey is primarily what I have and I think they are great for the money and if you take care of them and wash them properly you'll get tons of use out of them and they will continue to look new. This pic below is mine from the LeBron iD thread but show the newer Rev 30 Swingman, and the Hardwood Classic Throwback Swingman.

Authentic:
This is as real deal as you're going to get. Pretty much what NBA players wear on court. They are made from Adidas' Clima Cool material (right guys??) and everything is sewn on, double tackle twill when appropriate meaning if the letter or number is 2 tone then a top color is sewn onto the bottom color and then the whole piece is sewn on the jersey.

And as far as "legit checks" go, let's clear some stuff up.

The Replica, Swingman, and Authentic jersey's from Adidas are of course, all "legit". However the only fake jersey's we really tend to see on eBay and CL are I guess what you would equate to Swingmans. IMO there is no reason to make fake Adidas type Replica jereys, as they are already only like $50. Actual Authentic jerseys are a little more difficult to make fake versions of basically due to the nature of the newer material used on the Adidas ones. However, that being said I don't have too much info on older Authentics when other manufacturers made them like Nike or Reebok. I think some older Authentics used that shiny "dazzle" material but not certain. Basically jock tags and overall "cut" of jersey's are dead giveaways when looking for fakes.

It's easy to get a blank fake jersey and just sew some numbers and letters on it, just gotta do some research on the particular player you're looking for. Did, let's say Nike, or Adidas make that particular team jersey when that logo or color scheme was used etc?

I bought a fake Kemp off ebay a few months ago. I knew it was fake as soon as I received it, but one of the cats here said that Champion up until recently had ever made an authentic Sonics Kemp jersey and it was not the style which I bought, which was supposedly Nike. Stuff like that...

I hope this helps a little and didn't sound like rambling lol... :nerd:

I wonder, if they will sell authentics of the christmas day jerseys at a later stage!

If anybody finds any authentic on Amazon for under 100$ let me know. I have some credit i need to use

Anybody frame a jersey? Google and saw some shadow boxes but they look too bulky, wanted something sleeker to hang on wall.

Just gave this to my GF's son for Christmas. Pieced it together myself and bought the shadow box at Michael's, then took it to a custom frame store. It is big but looks great. The framer said if she had done it from scratch it would have been much smaller. Like picture frame style. So I recommend a custom frame place.

So you bought all the pieces and took it in to get done? Looks pretty good. How much was the shadow box and how much did they charge to put it together.

I have so many jerseys and I don't wear half of them. I would love to get 4-5 framed but it's just way too much.

Looks nice by the way.

18 inch is perfect. I've gotten some stuff done professionally and they put holes in the jersey to secure it. UDA does that and the jerseys often get ruined.
I actually saw a frame with that inside so u don't have to pin the jersey, but it does look bulky due to having it in there. I prefer it inside a frame to make it look nice.

Nice, this is similar to what I want. I also want to include his rookie card and some jersey/auto card I have of his. I'll ask Michaels if they can custom one. Thanks.

Thanks! The box I got in sale for $90 I think. Then the frame place charged $125 to do everything. Cut the mattes for the pic and COA's, and laid everything out.

She did have other jersey orders there and she did them much slimmer.

Last pick-ups of the year:

Sand Knit Isiah Thomas

MJ rookie:

and Rev 30 KD and CP3 from the Amazon sale - can't remember who it was but shouts to the NTer who posted that deal!

ok first off the isiah is AWESOME. I personally love the material used

it was being sold for 150ish. I mean i think most of the details from the vintage raptors are there. and the tag looks pretty good as ive seen other nike tags similiar

Dope pic ups. How do you like the quality of the MJ rookie ??
yeah, really happy with the quality. the mesh is much, much better than the usual thick and stiff M&N mesh. I still wouldn't pay retail but I got it for 20% off + an extra 15% off on the Euro NBA Store so that was a decent deal.

Legit. Shiny dri fit was very prone to pilling and snags.

Hey NT members, as some of you might remember, I got robbed of my entire authentic and Pro Cut Penny collection back in June, the bad news is that I still have not found out who was it, but I still got hope,

the good news is that I was able to pick up a number of Penny Pro Cuts and authentics, I already posted some, but the remaining things I will post probably mid of next year, when my collection is as strong as it once was, in the meantime I have picked up a number of things from the 2011 till current jersey era! Big thanks to all the NTers who have helped me out!

Wow, that's pretty sick. how come the back numbers on those Tucker jerseys look so different? Is one of them a retail jersey and the other one a gamer?
i wish they would "remaster" the m&n jerseys
laugh.gif
lol that would be nice... although I'd be worried they'd also use that as an excuse to jack up prices

I got them both from the Suns, one of them also has no Suns logo on the neck, maybe somebody here knows!
