Official AUTHENTIC NBA JERSEY Post - Bringin Back the JERSEY ERA... (Info/Guide = Page 1)

I thought retail for authentics were going down to $200. There was a gasol 2014-2015 authentic on eBay and the tags on it were for $200. It then made sense why the retail authentics at the NBA store for the all star authentics were $250. i thought adidas got smart and realized the $300 retail tag was crazy.

Hello. Just wanted to get your guy's expertise and ask if these are authentic by any chance? Thanks

That's a swingman

OK. Swingman not authentic. But I mean its not a knockoff right? Cuz I know they make the authentic like on court Jerseys and they make a modified swingman or revolution 30 jerseys that they have now. But the ones I pictured are not fake or anything right? Thanks again.

First of all, this a question more suited for the Swingman thread.

Second of all, I think the word you're looking for is "legit", which refers to the authenticity (hence, "legit check"), while "authentic" refers to the jersey level/type.

Third of all, I don't think Ross would ever dare risk selling counterfeit items.

I didn't even know of that thread. My fault. I'll check over there and ask. But I appreciate the response. Thanks again.

AUTHENTIC ALL STAR 2015.

Check your Adidas outlet. She said they had mad swingman jerseys for $55 and this was the only authentic they had. Plus a few AS T shirts.

My girl bought it quick and thought it was Carmelo

Dude you are lucky as hell I didnt even know they sell them retail, I want to start collecting All Star jerseys

Yeah, I went back after my girl got it to see what else they had. Probably had about 17 swingman jerseys and 4 replicas. I am DYING for the Carmelo authentic. I really like this jersey. The quality and design is nice. Very simple and retro.

Already sold the Kyle Lowry :smokin I only buy Knick jerseys. Would only make an exception for AI or Kobe All Star jerseys.

Anyways, I dont start my new job until next week and Ive browsed this entire thread over the past couple days and Im very very very impressed by some of your guys jerseys and yall extensive knowledge of authentic jerseys.

Its a lost art of people REALLY knowing the intricacies of authentics going back to the early 90s, so I have to give yall props for that.

For me I use to be a BIG collector of authentics when I was in HS in the early 2000s (sold off at least 20 authentics back in the day)and now over the past couple months been trying to get back in the game. Here is my little collection (I only buy size 44 to keep things consistent, dont want to go back to the size 52 debacles) and I will be getting in some new heats in the next couple weeks. Looking forward to be apart of this thread also

(ps I HATE mitchell and ness, never bought one, never will. They will never get a penny from me, I despise them to no end....also, I cant wait to see who gets the next couple years, I wouldnt mind them having a variety of makers, and each team negotiate who their apparel maker, like how it was in the late 90s and early 2000s, would make things very interesting

Paul George

Gerald Wallace (Inaugural Season in Brooklyn)

Grant Hill

Patrick Ewing (First authentic I ever bought, $75 clearance rack at Old NBA Store on 5th Ave back in 2001)

That Ewing is cool.

I'm all about M&N though. They make jerseys that you can actually wear casually. Not down to my knees or needing to be on the court for. I understand some run different and some are off but they have those 40% and 50% off sales that are more than fair. MLB jerseys are way too long. NBA jerseys are way too long and expensive. They don't have any sales. NFL Nike jerseys are okay, fit is weird and the cut is off. Sleeves and collar are huge and the material is stiff. Still better than their RBK jerseys.

curious to your hate of M&N? i can't buy them anymore because i really don't like the mesh they use so i refuse to buy their stuff. if the mesh was better, i actually like a lot of their recent releases and would buy some.

Huh? You might be the first person I've read that seems to love M&N over many other jersey brands.

I have 1 M&N, the Kemp all star and as nice as it is...it sucks in terms of comfort compared to any of my Adidas authentic or Swingman. Even my older Nike and Reebok Swingman, and Champion authentic fit bettter and are more comfortable than M&N...to ME.

For my Rev30's I just get them tailored in length so I don't have to feel like I'm going out in my evening gown and they fit perfectly. We all have our different tastes in what we like though, but they are def not my first choice. Oh and in terms of price...I have gotten all my authentic Rev30 mesh numbers joints for $100 or less, same with my Champion authentics.

also damn adidas to HELL for putting their logo on the All Star jerseys... I like to be a smug and look down on people from afar when they have a swingman jersey, they made it damn near impossible for me to do it without getting up close

Leesburg, VA Outlets.

If anyone comes across a Carmelo authentic, PLEASE CONTACT ME. WILL GLADLY BUY

Nice find. My local Adidas only had Swingman Butler and Pau.

I was at Leesburg Fri night too, but didn't have time to bit up Adidas.

2 reasons

1)  it takes the fun out of looking, searching and finding that rare jersey, not really counting the pre 1990s jersey like the Birds, Worthys, Wilt, etc because you absolutely cannot find those jerseys, but its more for the mid 1990s jerseys.

take for example the 95 and 96 All Star jerseys, I saw a dude with a Terrell Brandon authentic 1996 Fiesta all star Champion and damn near had an heart attack, now M&N can reproduce them at will and they are not so rare anymore. Another example is the 98 Alternate Bucks, seeing the original Champion one damn near brought me to tears.

I dont mind when they bring them back in game as hardwood classics and you can buy the current jersey with the current players, I think thats fair game, but when you now own a Glenn Robinson 98 alternate Bucks as a M&N, it diminishes the person who worked hard to find the originals

2) the second is the utter low qualityness of these reproduction of these jerseys. Take a look at the Vancouver Grizzlies they decided to put out, its just disrespectful to the art of making jerseys and you can clearly see that they just want to make money and not preserving quality

the only good reason ive heard was from my boy who was like 6'6 and 250 lbs, there was no way you could have get any of these 1990 Champion jerseys for his size, so M&N reproduction was his only way to go since they can now make them in 3XL

other than that, you will not catch me 5 ft of a Mitchell and Ness a jersey. IF you ever see me at a M&N store slap me and spit on me, I have failed as a man

Thought about getting some of my older jerseys tailored to a smaller size, going to bring one that fits me well as a template to a local dry cleaners.

Any do's/dont's I should be concerned about? I plan on bringing one of my least liked jerseys to see if my local dry cleaners does a good enough job or not.

I really like the material of the Rev30s. It has a great feel, so light and soft BUT the length, twill numbers and $300 tag are all a huge problem for me. Don't know where you find jerseys with mesh numbers for under $100 besides Heat LeBron jerseys. Every Knicks jersey I see with mesh are $250+

As for the older jerseys, I like them. As a Knick fan, our jerseys are very plain and the M&N jerseys are more than fine. It's fun looking at older jerseys and finding them but as a kid, I never wanted a Ewing, Houston, or Spree authentic. I wanted a Starks as a kid and I'm cool with the Starks M&N for $100. No complaints. I got like five Carmelo authentics now so I'm good with current Knicks.

I also don't trust a tailor to shorten my Rev 30 authentics. I'm tall so they're not ridiculous on me but it's still foolish how long they are. Happy they made them a little shorter now.

There is still a separate market for the original jerseys. The Mitchell and Ness remakes don't compare, especially the China versions, but people buy them at inflated prices so nothing's gonna change.

true, but my problem is that M&N has now become THE market, they are the dominate ones. They are everywhere

I think that whomever takes over the contract in 2 years are listenign to the complaints from fans.

- dont make them long like a dress, make them in length options for retail

- drop the retail to $250

- sell the authentics to the publics, they make them so hard to find now, especially these alternates and specialty jerseys

- stop shoving swingmans down our throats

Also, I would love to get my hands on a sleeve jersey while they are out, the new contract holders will probably not continue them, I would love showing my friends 15-20 years down the line my sleeved goldren state warriors slate jersey with Chinese characters for the New Years...that will blow their minds

Adidas not releasing real authentics is just going to gelp M&N thrive. Also M&N is willing to drop their price to 100-150 while fanatics/adidas/nba wont give you more than 20% off 300 (240 total for a "not true" authentic)

Im not a M&N collector but the new generation growing up in a time when you cant buy real authentics will be....M&N is becoming the #1 choice for basketball jerseys...which is wierd but its true

In a M&N interview, a M&N rep said they can start making jerseys as soon as from 5 years ago. If I were M&N, i'd take advantage of this crappy rev 30 era asap
