Whats good people...I know this debate has been discussed before not sure if in here but anyways, with these economic times it seems like Jordan Brand hasfallen into a decline. I'm pretty sure we can all agree with this, from packs sitting in stores to even on NT the little post count of official releases. However, I noticed something more then just that. While on Ebay searching for the older Jordans I have noticed the prices drop DRAMATICALLY for those highlysought after pairs people have wanted. For instance I was watching some Jordan IVs Black/Red and White/Cement I was shocked to see the Blacks end at only $207(would have copped but missed it

) and the Whites at $270 and these weardamn near deadstock shoes. This is just an example of the tons of prices being so low from the prices we are use to seeing. I happy because now I can get thoseolder classics I wanted

however it makes me wonder will we really seeJordan Brand 5 years from now being that now even the sought after pairs are declining dramatically in price and new releases sitting on shelves. Also wantedto tie in people now going towards the higher end brands like Prada, Gucci, etc paying for quality and with all the industry buzz not to mention this brandsdon't know recessions,

. Your thoughts...just curious.

u say that the prices of OLD jordans are declining dramatically, but thats probably because the seller of them is in a rush to get money, or wants to sell themreally badly...look at online websites...the prices of bred (black/red) xi's are in the late $300's and $400's, while some independent sellers areselling in the mid to front $200's for a lot of pairs. and now the new releases of shoes are sky rocketing in price, like for instance, $150 for thenewbuck xii's? and $175 for the upcoming spacejams? i do not see the prices of jb going down at all. i think its just hard times for independent sellers, and they need money quick. and the quickest way is to sell some og stuff for a little cheaper than normal. i mean dont get me wrong, it's a fabulous pointon your part, but i just dont think you looked into the subject hard enough. thats just my opinion

I remember hearing in a report that even though the economy is tough, the video game and the shoe game aren't taking a tough hit. Sales had actuallyincreased. IMO I feel Jordan Brand is making a comeback. The lineup for this year is pretty nice, though some of us may complain about quality. The 12's,Space Jams, True Blue 3's, DMP 1's, Raging Bull 5's, DMP 7's, DTRT Metallic 1's, and Shadow Grey 1's were or should be decent releases.Plus there may be some promise for 2010 with the possible release of the Infrared 6 and Chicago 10.

Your kids, kids, kids generartion, and many after , will still be rocking J's...........

They aint going no where......................

You could say that about everything right now. Things will bounce back eventually and I think Jordan Brand will do the same and will be just as sought after asbefore

very true i like that

I agree with you OP somewhat,
but I also think seller's need the money more nowadays due to the economy.

I copped VNDS bred 12's recently for $100 shipped, seller needed the money quick I guess.

I don't think that Jordan brand is going down at all. The going price for shoes is definitely cheaper now because of the economy, but Jordans in generalaren't going anywhere.

jordans are still fly and there always going to be fly the desighns of the 1-13 17 and 23 are timeless people will be buying these shoes 20 years from now

but not all Jordans are quite the same
6 rings hybrids n teams are nothin compared to the Air Jordan series
like the 1-14's IMO

Jordan's won't be going anywhere anytime soon. The low prices are due to people not having the money to spend like they once did. Sellers are morewilling to let sneaks go for lower prices especially on ebay, so they don't get hit with ebay fees. I've copped a few pairs off their pretty cheap: DSRed Suede XX1 - $115, DS QS XX's - $128, DS Citrus VII's - $99.99. Gotta take advantage of these economic times.

Yup, this is a good time to invest.

Once the economy starts to become healthy again, it'll be pretty damn difficult to find low prices like it is right now.

Working at a sneaker store, I personally can say how sales are going for Jordans. Amazingly, the younger crowd have been pulling their weight lol. Dropping madcash on Team shoes like the True Flights, and Fusions only make JB stronger, and give them momentum into future releases of similar styles. As for Retros, theline ups for these are getting shorter and shorter surprisingly??? I make it a point to inform kids or adults to retro releases but they seem to be moreconcerned with the next fusion colorway/model lol! Which makes me sad, but able to understand why the "Limited Release" or "QuickstrikeRelease" has to be in affect. Less Quantity and Higher Price Tag = Less Money lost, catering to the real collectors out there. But overall I think JB isdoing a great job at both ends. Pleasing the older crowd with retros and giving the younger crowd a new version of an old shoe.

Just my 2 cents. . .

I think older shoes are dropping because of the over saturation of shoes (all brands) on the market now. Especially from Nike and JB. There are so many shoesto choose from now, its getting ridiculous. I mean you have Nike trying to be a multi billion dollar company, JB trying to follow in those footstepsreleasing tons of crap shoes in tons if different colorways, you have Under Armour trying to get in the market with their ugly shoes, Adidas retroing all theirmodels in 30 different colorways, same goes with reebok, NB etc. Its Pretty sad, and eventually things have to slow down, because the general public can onlyown so many shoes at a time.

i dont think jb brand is goign anywhere, the prices being low is probably due to independent sellers needing money asap for things, but again official sitesare still selling J's are those high prices we have come to see..

the only time Js will be good is when MJ brings back the retros not all the junk he has out now thats just a quick buck for him
