I love the IX, the cool grey IX was the first pair of j's I bought with my own money wen they first came out. I remeber I always wanted the flint greysbut couldnt find them until a cpl wks ago. Oh yea I think they are one of the better j's to hoop in to, very comfortable.

The IX doesnt get love from me because MJ never balled seriously in them. That was the year he played baseball. And that didnt work out too well. Plusthey're ugly IMO.

I think the IXs are fire. I would buy some cdps but its better shoes I can spend the money on

mike was in baseball when they dropped so not many saw them on the hardwood until he came back but i love the IX gave my cdp pair to my nephew & noe i needanother pair of those & some Cool gray's

Sorry Koopa, but I have to respectfully disagree..The Charcoal's are the slickest colorway, period..But Olives are pretty serious too..I thinkthe only thing that keeps me from saying they are the best c.w. is the fact you can't match em with as much stuff as the charcoal..I got my Olives for asteal at only 175 DS..

Olives sat for months in 1994 and again in 2002.
Paint on midsole of the Retros flakes like crazy, and the cushioning is dead.
...but the fit of the upper on the IX is excellent. Compares very well to a lot of modern hoops shoes.

I didn't like the IX's that much when they first came out. Got the white/blacks when they first retroed a few years ago, and now they're one of myfavorites. I wish they would retro the all black. I was hoping they would be in the CDP.

I love IXs. Black/Charcoals = Best, Cool Grey's were great bcause it had the smokey colored soul that you didn't have to worry about yellowing. For allthe IX haters...this is the pair that is on his statue forever. Really they are not that bad...Maybe not the best ever, but not bad. Plus it seems like therewere alot of custom player colorways in this model that were really nice.

the flints are cool, so are the ones gentry had on, but the other ones are too plain. good balling shoe tho.
