DMP XI or '01 Retros

Hi NT,

I'm planning on buying some white/black XIs and I'am hesitating between the 2001 retros and the DMP pack. Money is not a problem, the problem is thatI'm not sure how the DMPs and the Retros will age, it seems that the DMPs yellow quite fast when worn, on the other hand all the retros, even DS, arealready yellowed, and of course will get worst with each and every wear.
This is not a dumb question like "what should I wear", obviously I already know what I want to wear, this more about what would be your bet, betweenthese two (almost) same models, for wearing and for keeping fresh the longest time possible.

i think 2001 retros are better and quality but i have the dmp xi and there are icey as h** when it comes down to it its your call heres a quick pic i took somemonths ago

If you're looking for the least amount of yellowing out the box, obviously the DMP XI being released just a couple years ago would be your best bet.... Ihave both the Retro Concords and the DMP XI and personally I prefer the DMP XI. Only because they're newer and thus in better condition. If you'relooking for points with the OGs or whatever get the Concords, especially if money isn't a problem.

DMP XI DS- $3-400

Retro Concord DS- $3-400

You make the choice . . . .
 
To '01 XI owners. How do these shoes hold up? I'm waiting to get my pair. They were listed as VNDS. I plan on wearing them 1-2 times a week. Idon't mean to thread jack or anything.
 
It's been established that the shoe material quality has gotten worse and worse. So the older the better as long as they have been properly maintained. Alittle conditioner on the leather and carbon will prevent the cracking and there's good ol seaglow for the soles.

I gotta double-dip here real fast. This guy makes a good point. Retro Concords SHOULD hold up better in the long run, given they were taken careof.... just cuz a DMP XI has lower quality materials doens't mean someone like me can't make them last just as long as Concords . . . .

Buy DS and you don't have to worry, especially since money is no object 4 u

I did not mean to disrespect anyone, I just wanted to state that I don't hesitate because of some price issues, that's all. But thanks forsuch an interesting advice, I'll keep it in mind.

For all the others, thanks a lot for your answers and keep it up, it seems that many would take the 01's and that the DMP's quality is not on point,I'm a little bit disapointed, regarding the re-selling price, I would think that the quality would be better ...
 
DMP 11s are nicer and newer but get dirty faster...but 01 is better quality. Overall I'd get the DMP 11

Please use the Sneaker Reviews forum for posts like these.

Shoe A vs Shoe B threads generally don't receive alot of positive feedback since it's usually 1 word answers and people are selecting based off theirown opinions.
