The top 10 lottery busts of the last decade

Yi and Morrison shouldnt be on there...maybe Morrison at 10 but both are still quite young...Yi has a slight hope of potential, while Morrison

not soo much.

Does being injured your entire NBA career make you a bust? If so then Luke Jackson should definitely be on that list. Drafted 10th overall by Cleveland in04' and that pretty much sums up his entire NBA career.

Olwakandi, Darko, and Kwame Brown should be in the top 5.

It is too early to call Yi a bust. He had some good games. He is still really young.

Morrison has been working very hard this summer and still has a sweet stroke. He may get some burn this year.

Eddy had better seasons than anyone on that list

Eddy Curry is still a bust, he failed expectations

I remembered the hype around him when he was coming out of high school

He has yet to make one All-Star team

He's unmotivated and lazy (check this past summer when he came to the knicks workout unprepared in front of his bosses) How is a pro basketball playergoing to be overweight and forget his sneakers??

OK...but how would that make him top 10 as you proclaimed. He's been more productive than any of the people on that list...so thatshouldn't make him a top 10 bust.

I was about to post in here and say why is Michael Olowokandi not on this list, until I did a search on wikipedia and found he was drafted in 1998. So yeah nowonder why he isn't on this list.

But seriously though I think Kandi man is biggest BUST ever !

Been watching some international ball over the summer and Yi has bulked up.
putting in some post moves! There is still hope for the lad.

I wouldn't call Yi a bust yet...let alone place him in the top 10. I'm sure most of it has to do with the hype he had with being the "next bigthing" out of China and his lackluster results so far. If Yi was just another college hot shot who entered the draft after a few years of school...nobodywould really be considering him a bust.

The definition of a bust--- Doesn't that basically mean someone who was projected to do really well but failed to meet the expectations?
Now I can understand Darko and Kwame being on the list.

But explain to me how Yi Jianlian , Yaroslav Korole are on this list then and not EddyCurry? In comparison to Eddy, those two weren't even projected to be top 3 pick, let alone considered a franchise player at the time of their drafting. Yes, those two have stats worse than Curry. However, Eddy Curry was picked 4th overall at the time (This is the same draft with Kwame Brown, Tyson Chandler andPau Gasol) and was considered to have the potential to be a great center. But he's had only one season where he averaged at least 7 rebounds a game. But hehas a career average of 5 rpg. That's unheard of for a damn center who's supposed to be dominating.

But a player like Yi, he started in 2007. Too early to call him a bust.
Eddy- he's an 8 year pro

His stats are inconsistent (forget about lastyear since he was going through some personal problems, but look at the stats before last year)

Bottom line is when I think of "busts", I think of the years they have been in the league, their projected potential at the time of the draft andtheir productivity all combined.

Anyways, although it may be unfair to label them as such, Jay Williams and Shaun Livingston were busts.

Eddy Curry is another huge bust that comes to mind.

I do agree with #1 though, Darko turned out to be a huge disappointment.
Because Oden has only played one season after coming back from a serious injury. Jury's still out on Oden. Yi, on the other hand, has already been traded. Milwaukee didn't even want to ride out his rookie contract and see if he'd develop

They didn't trade him because they did not think he was good enough, they traded him because he wanted out and they were able to land a verygood player in RJ.

Yi was so desperate for the Bucks not to draft him that he didn't invite them to go watch him workout in the pre-draft camps. When they did draft him hedemanded a trade as soon as the announcement was made

It worked out well for both sides...Yi found a way out of the crappy state of Wisconsin and the Bucks got a player who could help them immediately.
