philadelphians (or non-philadelphians) my boys pops just got killed and my friends and i got robbed at temple over the break. Its impossible nomatter where youare to be ignorant to this wave of disregard for life. Philly doesnt have a crazy gang warfare problem that other cities may have; its KIDS with guns. Its ashame, and please dont turn this post into a twisted "my city/neighborhood is more dangerous than your city/neighborhood", who cares. its not justlogan or southwest or mantua anymore, even Center city is some kinda hot right now, in the heart of WINTER. What do you think needs to happen to make phillythe %%** again

You might want to holler at Laney V His, dude might be part of the problem. My sister lives out there and I worry about her, but it seems like the vibe I gerfrom her is most of the people being killed are somewhat involved in something.

What's going on out there?

Clean house and when I say that I mean the criminals, politicians, the cops the whole corrupt legal system that plays a part in the problem.

When you have a high crime rate its usually awhole list of otherproblems that come along with it.

be more aware of where u at and don't be dumb
I've lived on the brink of temples campus all three years I've went here and never even almost been robbed, regardless of how many blocks off campus Iam
I'm sayin, ne one can get it at ne time, but don't make yerself a mark

damn man I'm sorry to hear that. I actually go to school at Temple. I've seen a bunch of crazy stuff over time, like my boy and I went tosee the Spiderman 3 midnight showing and as soon as we turn the corner, shots start firing, and we had to dip across Broad street. but yeah, philly as a wholeis crazy, my boy's pops got killed out in west philly last summer by some dudes he knew, ppl know what happened, but God forbid they should open up theirmouth and speak....

my boy goes to temple, he says its insane
like 1 block away from campus is just the hood life, crackheads on every corner n$***
abandon houses and whatnot

I heard Philly's mayor was in line for the IPhone and someone asked him why he in line when the crime rate is crazy high

Yeah i am currently staying in PA for college and i really like the place and all AS a matter of fact i am planning on transferring to Drexel- Hopefully bythen this crimes will diminish. But on the real you can't walk around Temple during at night, rough area menn lol.

I've lived in southwest almost all my life. Just don't put yourself out there for one, and know where to, and where not to go.

Honestly, I don't go around thinking I'm gonna get robbed all the time. I just live my life. If it happens, it happens. I can't control otherpeoples actions.

But I do agree, its the dumb kids with pistols causing alot of the problems, trying to hard to be "gangsta" when none of them can throw their handsanymore.

Thats one thing in Philly we never had to deal with though was the gangs of other cities. Everyone just reps their neighborhood around here.

John Street is a bum. I saw this _ in I Goldberg cheesing extra hard, and I guess he was surprised that I didn't recognize him or something. I'mthinking like 'you're not doing a good job. look at your city

Used to live in the area before I joined the military now I'm back stationed at McGuire. I can't believe how bad its gotten in the past 12 years. Hopefully the new mayor can straighten things out.

Level the city and rebuild. Not level with a bomb but impose martial law, break down doors if you have to and just start rounding everyone up who has a record. It sounds extreme but it's the criminals with priors who are causing most of the problems. What the hell is the Muslim community in Philly doing about thesituation? Or is it cool to grow a beard?

My boy goes to drexel, we all skipped school to go to a phillies game and went around the city, great city when the lights are on. but it's ashame with all that crime

I'm not making light of what is happening in philly, but what you stated is the case with most murders in most "dangerous" cities. The majority of those murdered are running the streets. Not to say innocent people can't & don't get caught out there, but........... You know whatI mean.

my friends that go to temple live on diamond st just off campus. it's amazing how that area does a 180 once the sun goes down.

it's everywhere though. right off 95, 5th and spring garden my boy and his girl got jacked at gunpoint after leaving the club.

it's been happening for years now, it's just bad as ever now. i'm a philly boy but in the beginning a LOT of the reason i'm now a penn stategraduate was because i was straight disgusted with my city. it's sad.

Reason why I don't go to Philly that much anymore..
