regarding the espn comments - i think those comments are well deserved. it's so jarring and frustrating to try and get through that entire article.
 
I was there, and I can't describe anything about the XX3 unless I never want to get invited back to a Jordan event ever again.

So true. Scoop is a poor writer. I been reading his articles since the early '90s in SLAM magazine. I'm not feelin' his style. That's not good writing.

All-in-all, gotta give props for gaining access though. It musta been a sick experience. They don't play at the United Center. I interviewed the executive V.P. of Business Operation for the Chicago Bulls. Second in command (right below Jerry Kraus, the owner/chairman). It was for a college assignment. They escorted me up to the front offices, offerred drinks. Real VIP over there. They have an office atmosphere like no other. You can barely find one inch of the wall that isn't covered in memorabilia. From autographed, game-worn MJ 1s encased in glass on stands to autographed Norm Van Leers (LOL). Sickest images too.
 
The experience definitely seemed great, but the article definitely seemed poorly constructed.

if it wasn't for the subject, that would have been a very tough read.
but wow! I can barely even imagine how I would handle that, it is all my dreams rolled into one!

Yo BrotiPoo, you're right. That was a typo. Jerry Reinsdorf runs the show.

My bad. Jerry Kraus was the GM that ruined the greatest dynasty in the history of sports. We've been talkin' bout Scoop's poor writing, but Kraus' dismantling of The Bulls is the true tragedy. Everyone, including Phil Jackson, says they coulda won one or even two more championships. 3 wouldn't have been outta the question.
 
Jerry Krause gets WAY too much blame for dismantling the Bulls and nowhere near enough credit for assembling them.

And that said, who's to say they weren't done as a group anyway? Pippen's constant harping about his contract wore on everyone, Jordan seemed like he was definitely ready to walk away again, and I'm not sure if Dennis Rodman would have been able to keep it together for another season. Not to mention Phil Jackson, while a terrific coach, is a master media manipulator and a nightmare for front offices, particularly his own. (See: Kobe drama.) The Bulls were going to implode at some point regardless. And keeping them together for one more year would have been damn near impossible given how much they would have had to pay Jordan and Pippen alone. Not to mention PJ, Rodman, and whoever else were free agents that off-season.
 
dang scoop is one lucky man....i would trade the 23s just to have the experience he had! i know i know but dude that whole experience sounded so dope! id take the retro 1 signed! sounded like a bomb experience....lucky ducks man.
