Holy smokes, the week 5 post continued the heat showcased in the previous weeks! I'd like to thank each and every one of you who've participated in allowing these posts to become the reason why I still visit Niketalk. Please continue posting anything you can to keep these posts alive!

If you're new to the idea, check out what your fellow Niketalkers and I have been doing for the past 5 weeks:

This week, we bring out the VI's! When this shoe first came out, people didn't know what to think of it! I recall all the space shoes and moon boot comments but I didn't care! My Michael Jordan obsession was just beginning back in 1991 but I vividly remember copping the original black/infrared VI's on my Birthday. Before I even put them on I just stared at them admiring their beauty for hours! The clean lines, the translucent sole, the lace locks, the lace pouch...perfection!

My current collection of VI's

Here's a close up of my black/royal VI's:

The infamous black/royal VI's. These have been around since 2000, andit's funny to see thatevery once in awhile they get circulated again. They're just a basicblack/infrared VI that was customized by Niketalk's KVN. I know whatalot of youare thinking, but at the time I had 3 deadstock pairs of infrareds andI didn't anticipate the value to sky rocket like they did. However, they'restill pretty fresh to me, and I don't regret my decision on having thempainted. Now a days, more people will probably think they're fake thanreal, which is why I don't wear them that often...

Can't forget the MJ pics:

These pictures were from the 1991 Nike/Wheaties Calendar. Specially marked boxes of Wheaties included this limitededition calendar. Since the calendar came out before the debut of the VI's, it was the first time anyone had caught a glimpse of the "New AirJordans". As an 11 year old kid, I remember the anticipation killing me. I couldn't wait till these shoes released!

I really would love to find some DMP VIs or Carmines but imo the VI's are overpriced and not one of my favoritemodels so I think I'm just gonna wait for the retros in 2010 to grab a pair to complete my 1-23 set...

Wow, tons of heat on this page. Sick photos and shoes. Great 1st page.
Ijapino-Are your custom black royals still DS?

The VI is my favorite Jordan.

I'm pretty much in the same boat..looking for some VIs to complete my 1-23 set but these have probably been the hardest model to find at a decent price.

I can remember saving up for weeks as a 14 year old, desperately wanting a pair of the hottest kicks on the streets .....the Reebok Pump!

But when I walked into the shop & saw a whole wall stacked with nothing but row upon row of black & red Nike Air Jordans, there was only one pair ofkicks that I was going to be walking home with that day!

As always amazing contributions from everyone, crazy OG heat on the first page!
