Vick to resign with Nike

I don't think Nike is taking a risk in Vick at all...if you ask me they should of never dropped him!

Loving this. Nike prob is sick of the Vick 5's just sitting stored somewhere & ready to sell lol....on a real note, i can see him wearing his old line& I don't think we'll see him in Jordan Brand.

interesting... but the man has done his time. good that nike was quick to drop him, but quick to give him a second chance.

however, it strikes me that the target demographic for his shoes/apparel would not care as much about his crime compared to any other group.

please dont believe that i'm downplaying the severity of what he did.
 
Nike isn't taking on a risk; it's not like they are in pre-production of the Vick VI or anything. Dude is simplywearing the swoosh on his cleats and, if he dons them, gloves for now. And I can tell you that for a fact that Vick jersey and T-Shirt sales are extremelyhigh right now. Only thing selling more is Favre product and generic Steelers and Cowboys merchandise.

This just pisses me off. Vicks NFL and endorsement income led to and helped finance torturous and inhumane acts. None of this would have even been an issue ifhe would have said...

"Hey this is wrong. This is very wrong. I'm not going to go down this road".

What mentally sound person can grab a dog by his hind legs and swing him like a bat into a concrete wall? Stick a metal bit in a dogs mouth, throw it into atub and then electrocute it?

The whole "he paid his debt to society" argument is pure BS. Yeah, he went to federal prison for 2 years and was released. Ok good. But now he getsthe same income and luxuries that financed that crimes to begin with?

Students who bang teachers can't teach in school again. Even if it's their "craft and skill". Someone at my school grabs a girls $#* in a barand now he has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life? And this guy gets to go back to living life as a king?

I bought all the Vick shoes. I loved watching him play. I kept two pairs after I gave the rest to charity. I just got a new boxer yesterday. I'm gonna lethim chew these to shreds.

Screw this guy. I'd much rather see Troy Smith (who's a better QB) Suggs or Ed Reed in Nikes.

Pull your skirt down for real. American society has its values warped when a man is deemed a criminal and monster for animal cruelty (it is wrong)but you're defending sex offenders. Sex offenders. People who are mentally ill and have a thing for children. These are the people that you want back inthe classrooms so that they can touch your son/daughter. Fam, dogfighting was once legal in the good ol US of A. It was so popular that this country'sforefathers took part in it. Get mad fam, I hope you have a heart attack from all of the salt in your system.
 
HMACK... I'd have to disagree with you on this one my man.

I for one am happy as a clam in poop to see Vick back on the grid iron and making every cent possible while he can.

Why?

Because the system fails so many people in so many ways, that this dude is now moving forward in his life because of the system. He did his time and now he canmove forward after doing what needs to be done to educate other people in why they should and should not go down certain paths.

He is one of a VERY few who has come out of the penile system and can go back to a good life. Others such as dope dealers or people who commit theft or felonscan not.. because the "system" is supposed to rehabilitate and yet, you cant get ANY kind of good job even if you were skilled to do good jobsbecause you are a felon.

If the NFL is set up to allow Felons to work after doing their time, then so be it.

I think it FAR worse what AIG has done and what Bernie Madoff has done by bilking Millions of Dollars from the American people.. (some of the rich one I couldcare less about they have more)

But when Bernie gets out....and IF he's alive.. he can still live the good life. AIG folks.. never went to jail. The Enron dudes who offed themselves werefeeling guilty.. the ones who chose to go to jail will get out and Im sure have some money hidden somewhere.

So while what Vick financed (at one time) was a bad thing.....who are we to judge and not forgive since the system has been set up to let him go on?

By the way... Im from Mississippi and I am one of those who didn't know Dog Fighting was illegal when this all went down. Am I ignorant? No. Did I go tocollege? Yes.. I canpeak the Kings English and convey my thoughts in a coherent manner.......But you dont know what you dont know.

Im a people person....and if he didn't murder someone and his upbringing led him to doing dumb things because those around him never told him differently,Im willing to give that pass because I'd want someone to give me the same one. It's not right.. but it is what it is my man.
