Awesome thread. My favorite music of all time in a video game series is Megaman. Zelda being second. Nobody seeing Megaman though.

the old videos are probably not showing up since the last time someone replied was 2 years ago

i don't know if video music is as overlooked as you think.

it's obviously been influenced by electronic music, but now the relationship is reciprocated by composers from both electronic music and video game music fields.

dubstep is heavily influenced by the 8-bit scene, it seems like to me. just listen to some of the stuff, as well as the video game love letters some of these cats have produced.

8 Bit music and final fantasy scores...some of the best things I've ever heard to be honest

I saw that Streets of Rage was mentioned a few times in this thread but since we lost a lot of the videos posted I figure it wouldn't hurt to post them. Streets of Rage 2 was definitely one of my favorite games.

Always thought this was an interesting video.. definitely makes you go :wow: looking back on it.

I need this Hotline Miami game... Based off the soundtrack alone... I've been eyeing it on Steam, but now I think I'ma have to cop. The music reminds me a lot of EarthBoudn

Yeah, it's an amazing game. GOTY contender for me. It's got more style than any game I've played this year. Gameplay is top notch as well. The whole package for $10 is a steal. Well worth the money. You get the soundtrack with the game too, which is nice.
