Im goin on a trip to Vietnam for 3 weeks. What are some good places to go or things to do?

Vietnam is a good place for scenery and stuff! When I went there I went to Nha Trang and got a hotel across from the beach. The water there is really warm andreally clean, also my family loved to roam the night market there. Just be careful with necklaces, loose bags and stuff cuz they'll straight rip if offayou and run! You can take one of those bicycles thing and have them take you around the city, pretty fun! If people know you're american there...beprepared to get ripped off

Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). There's always something to do at any time of day/night.
Nha Trang and Vung Tau are nice beachy towns, too.

I've been back to Vietnam 3 times, and know plenty of people that have been back. And there has never been any type of story on Vietnamesesnatching chains, and bags. It's all heresay. Now cell phones, on the other hand is another story. But when you're at the beach cities like Nha Trang,Vung Tau, or Halong, there's plenty of people surrounding you especially if you're with family or on a tour. Nothing is gonna happen to you. Irecommend you bring a cell phone, and use their system. They'll make you purchase a certain amount of time, and when you run out of minutes, you buy more.I'm sure you're gonna meet plenty of women. The women in Ho Chi Minh City, mostly come out at night, but you need to use that cell phone and holla atthe local girls in the cafe, restaurants, and hair salons. Those girls know where the party is at. Oh , and get a haircut. You'll get to drink beer, get afull body massage 30 min, a super long shampoo, and have a nice haircut in Ho Chi Minh for less than 10 dollars. The food is no joke. You're gonna tastesome fresh bomb seafood. Ho Chi Minh is pretty expensive. I was spending a 100 to 200 a day easily there. You don't even want to talk about the clubs, 200or 300 won't last you 15 mins. Taxis will kill you.

You will get ripped off. They will know you're American. What may be ripped off to you though, might mean nothing. It's just you know that the personthat is a local pays less than you 4 or 5 times. I'm Vietnamese, and I get pissed off with that. I just have my cousins buy me stuff, cause they always cantell I'm American, no matter how I dress. Depending on the time you go, I recommend bringing maybe 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of slacks, a couple of dressshirts, and you're good. I was always in a shorts, T-shirt, and sandals. You're gonna have a great time, like any place. Don't think you're theshh, and people will welcome you with open arms.

if I let the females know im American is that instant vagina, like in mexico?

My friend went and told me about this hidden cave thats one of the biggest in the world and has this completely isolation jungle/ecosystem inside. You can take tours to it but it might be some bread.

My boy is there now loving it. My dad stays in Vietnam a large portion of the year too. Never been but it sounds sick.

Heard Pho is like $2 and triple the portions they give in NYC at $7~$9.

I'm positive there are theivery(sp) amongst travelers and rip offs.

Just prepare for it. And grab your nuts and demand to not get ripped off as much.
