Not sure if this belongs in a different forum or whatever but i wanted you see what you guys thought.

IMO ever since ebay changed its feeback policy (basically sellers can't leave negatives for buyers
grin.gif
) its like buyers don't even pretend like they are going to pay you. I havecompleted auctions where the buyer has good feedback (50+) and they don't even respond to e-mails or invoices. I guess that non-paying bidder strikedoesn't strike fear in people's hearts. As a seller, I feel like its a real crap shoot on if you are going to get paid or not. It's bad enougheveryone wants a "steal" so the lowball you to death. I'm not even going to comment on buyers leaving you any kind of feedback they want (ebayclaims you can get unfair negatives removed but good luck with that). Anyway, /rant.

ebay has def fallen off hard.

for BUYERS and SELLERS

i said buyers because i think a lot of the new bs rules and price increases and folks moved away from sellin on ebay.........the new feedback thing was justicin on the cake.

Is there any alternatives instead of Ebay. I have a few shoes Id like to put up and get rid of using Ebay but nothing but bad responses now.

don't know alternatives of any but something is bound to pop

eBay died in the summer of 08'. Though i still use to due to a large audience of buyers, it quickly became a buyers website.

Since adding the FVF, profit margin is low on almost anything i can attempt to make a profit on. The listing charges are understandable, but extorting me byFVF fees are ridiculous.

And the new feedback policy? Garbage. Ive put 12 things on eBay within the last 2 months, and only 5 actually followed through and paid.

. They still get their Listing charges, but i get nothing...

eBay has definitely taken a turn for the worst. I no longer get Powerselller Discounts, because some idiot buyers left negative feedback. One of them leftnegative feedback because I relisted after like 10 days of him not paying.

nope. pretty sad when you have over 1000 feedback (I have 1015 ATM) and you still get treated like %$+#. tomake matters worse, ISS's marketplace is all over the place now too. so frusturating

I never had a problem with ebay. maybe that's because I'm a ebay buyer and not a ebay seller. I think ebay is terrible for sellers because now buyerscan do whatever they want and get away with it( not paying for their item, leaving negative feedback for stupid reasons, etc.) The terrible stories I heard onNT alone makes me not want to sell anything on ebay. I feel bad for some of these ebay sellers because it seems like they cheated all the time on there. Idon't why ebay treat the sellers like $%^& sometimes, kinda like Youtube with all their stupid copyright infringement and flagging video BS. Why dosome these sites, that was once great in the past, change for the worst?

sold a phone last year... 1st buyer didnt pay..wait about a week for the payments. then i file for non-paying bidder wait again to close the case for 7 days ifi remember. then re-list the item for a week again and wait for another few days for the buyer to pay. wait another few more days to transfers the money frompaypal to my bank.

no negative for the first bidder....smfh.

sold 2 10/13 packages to a buyer on ebay who didnt pay. Not only did they not pay, but they claimed I received payment. All in all lost a total of $60 inlisting fees on shoes that never sold.

ebay is terrible, I rarely sell on there anymore

their fees+paypal fees dont even make it worth selling anything, if you never have go ahead and sit down and calculate how much they take from you

yup Ebay is a joke now, but lets face it unless Microsoft or Google come out with one, Ebay will be around for a long time because any sign of comp. they buyup the company

Craiglist is good but i like ebay more, craiglist list needs to join the corp. world and let microsoft buy it haha

Yeah guys ebay sucks for sellers
I started off as a buyer then moved on to being a seller.
This not being able to leave negative feedback to buyers is BS

And yeah they still charge the listing fee but you get not money.

Almost 6 years ago I asked what was the alternative to eBay. I've been buying/selling/trading shoes for 20+ years, but about 6 years ago the footwear landscape changed. Not just eBay but this whole "game" or whatever you want to call it. Re-selling is a respectable profession now :smh: fake kicks are rivaling the real thing as far as quality, and there appears to be no end in sight.

The saying goes that if you're not a part of the solution, you're a part of the problem. My attempt at a solution to what plagues the hobby I enjoy is this:

www.footwearexchange.com

1) What is Footwear Commodities Exchange (FoComEx)?
FoComEx is just that; a commodities exchange marketplace. Users can safely and securely buy/sell/trade footwear related commodities. Unlike other offerings out there, FoComEx is run by sneaker enthusiasts for sneaker enthusiasts. Safe & Security are our top priorities. We have a 0% tolerance policy in regard to fraud and suspicious activity.

2) How does FoComEx work?
Users must create a profile in order to buy/sell/trade on the exchange. There are two basic types of transactions: FoComEx Backed (Footwear Commodities Exchange acts as a go-between for the two parties involved. If a dispute arises as a result of the transaction, FoComEx will mediate for the best possible outcome). The second type of transaction is User-to-User. Here users deal directly with one another. If there is a dispute with these type of transactions, FoCoEx may/may not get involved, depending on the circumstances.

3) What else does FoComEx do?
Inspection/verification services supported by our money back guarantee, Commodities insurance & Futures, Market based historical pricing data.

Check us out: www.footwearexchange.com Fo_Com_Ex on IG.
