IS it TRUE will Jordan Stop his NEW shoe line NUMBERED after 23 ????

i keep on hearing that the jordan XXIII will be the last of the numbered line. what do you all have to say about this?
does that mean RETRO ends as well, and then its all gonna be the random jordan brand shoes that have no direct connection to his numbered shoes?
shoot the info you all got.

I can speak on the new Jordans, not the retros....

This has been addressed numerous times but according to everyone in the know, there will be no shoe titled the "Jordan XX4"...instead, there will bea Jordan Game Shoe, which will be JB's elite (probably annual) design. It will be separate from the Team J releases throughout the year. The signature linebasically continues, just under a different name.
 
The XXIII will be the last sig shoe. I believe they will keep making retroes, just in a more limited way. Also, there won't be as many retroes (not interms of prod. numbers, but as a whole) as they are releasing now.

REASON: why would jordan brand say "this will be the last sig"? hype is the answer. how can jb do that. just stop at23. its a way of hyping the shoe. i know for a fact it will not be the last. if they do stop, they will bring it back in 3 years or something. but jb stop thesigs?!? never. take a break yes. i know for sure i will not buy teams because i grew up with the series and now look forward for retros only. i dont care aboutteam fusion or team makeup?.... dont get me wrong some look nice but i grew up on the series.
and even the young collectors now days dont care about team shoes. you see older men that you think do not collect shoes wear team shoes just because they havethat mentality that if its a jordan its a good shoe. my opinion tho....
 
well i for one think it makes sence to stop. these are supposed to be "air jordans" as in if he was playing these would be what he would have onhis feet.

stop at his number....it make sences to have a premium model thats not exactly the NEXT air jordan in terms of what he would wear. so i for one belive thatyes. these are the LAST sig. shoe. air jordan xx4. NOPE. its not that complicated to figure out.
 
I think they will just stop numbering them...

After 23... it'll be Air Jordan 2009, 2010, 2011... ... 2023.

Similar to the Air Max line...

i hope they do stop at 23..well, im collecting only the series that the man himself had rock on..so im not that a fanatic of the higher numbers..,that way isave a lot of money..hehe

No more numbered sigs is just what it sounds like. They're going to stop roman numeral-ing the line. Anyone who thinks they're just going tocease the flagship shoe for basically the entire industry is buying straight into the hype. It's the difference between the Back to the Future trilogy andThe Matrix trilogy. "Back to the Future 1, 2, 3" vs. "The Matrix, Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions". Would you say the three films inThe Matrix trilogy have no relation to one another just because it's not numbered? That's the difference. Get serious.
 
it'd be better to end at 23.....that way the whole line will be a series complete. they can do a 45 at some point.....but they have a goldmine with theretros as long as they put in the money to use better materials and labor rather than putting money into a new model every year.

"Shoe collectors" aren't where JB makes most of their money, they make it off the "general consumer" that as you said will buy aJordan Brand product just because it has the Jumpman on it. I hate to break it to you but retro's are a small piece of of the JB profit pie. Yeah it makesthe 60K members of this board happy that they drop but the other 6.6 Billion people in the world could really care less!!! The "general consumer"doesn't even know the difference between and Team shoe and the Signature line, they just see that it's a Jordan Brand shoe and will buy it because ithas the Jumpman on it and they think it will make them "cool"!!!

When Gentry came to UofI a couple of weeks ago....he told us that he doesnt even know...at a time when he was asked does it stop after 23 He said"yeah, after 23 its finished" then he told us when he was saying that he didnt know he was gonna be the brands manager this long...soooo only timewill tell what happens

never said that retros were the main reason of success.....

if you think about it my friend.....
add all the retros together in 1 year........
and then add up all the team jordans together in 1 year................................ AND EXCLUDE THE SIGNATURE JORDAN FROM THIS OBSERVATION......

keep in mind i do not work for nike or know the amount of shoes that are purchased

but i can tell you that they come very close i believe..... some one correct me if im wrong but i know retros are a somewhat "a" piece of the pie.
team j's are bought more than retros tho...
