Any Golfers on NT?

hate  my hybrid. I bought one thinking it was going to be good, I used it and I felt like a damn cheater. The thing is as long as an 8 iron and hits like a 7 wood. Hybrids are a no no for me. Only woods and irons.

Tomorrow I begin teaching someone to play. I got a really good deal. Dude is an undefeated boxer, and he said he wants to golf. My lessons in exchange for boxing lessons. Interesting sports mix, but a good trade nonetheless.

Any SoCal golfers ever play Journey at Pechanga? I played last year, six months after I picked up golf and it is by far the most difficult course I've played. I'm playing again Monday and the alcohol will be flowing.

Got damn you really went all out.

Ill report back my review of mine later today.

Up early to get this 8:12 tee time going. Playing a new course today. Stoked.

I get so tired of the same 3-5 courses all the time.

Hated the course I played today. The conditions weren't up to the standard I'm used to now and the play was SLOWWWW. Not to mention I had to dodge a damn black moccasin from biting my *** on the 17th tee box. First and last time I play there.

The grip was giving me some issues, but not bad. It's just a matter of gettig used to it.

Keep your head up bro...hope next time goes better for you. Besides the sucky conditions how did you feel about your performance?

I played fairly well but was fighting rain and mental fatigue because I was getting so stressed about time waiting between shots. No lie it was legit 3-4 per shot for the whole back 9.

I really, really need to hit my irons better. My 6 iron is one of my worst clubs and it needs to be one of my best.

8 and 6 irons are my best irons.

Played 9 today... scored 44... Awful on the par 3's... double double triple on them smfh.

And I forgot to put my damn pitching wedge in the bag which probably didn't help me on those par 3's. Couple pars and couple Birds though. Super Stroke was pretty legit.  Might have to put some lead tape on the putter though.

"Fellers" I'm not rich (grad school poor) so often I have to choose between costly items, right now it's a toss up between the Adams Hybrid set or a Sony A57 faux-DSLR.

Now that the useless information is over, please tell me is it worth going for the graphite option over steel for the shafts.

Side note...I was riding a rented jetski yesterday and it dawned on me that most of the stuff I like to do is relatively expensive...I have two choices of a career field after school...ultra cool exclusive gov't stuff that makes decent money, or less than cool but lucrative private industry work. Golf equipment flashed through my mind $$$, Jetskis $$$$, performance car $$$$$, fully connected man cave $$$, plastic surgery to keep the lady hot $$$$$$$$ . My dudes is it me or are we slaves to our hobbies? They say money can't buy you happiness...but it can buy you a jetski and have you ever seen someone on a jetski frowning??

Ok I'll shut up. Good to see you guys getting out on the links despite not doing so well this time around. Also Sir Charles how did the lesson swap go for you guys?

If you are talking about irons and hybrids with graphite shafts. Woo! Irons are so much lighter with the graphite shaft. I bought some Cleveland wedges with graphite shafts and I swear I am never going back. It's so light, and you have a lot more control over the club.

Money does rule the world, but sometimes the people you know make it so much easier. Make nice with a golf pro, they get free games at any course. With friends. If you see where I am going.

Weather was bad yesterday, couldn't take dude out to the range. So nothing has happened yet

Graphite it is...plus it looks cooler lol. What part of VA are you in? I just moved from Alexandria to Texas last year. Still have people there and if I take the gov't job I'll be back...all that to say I'm hoping you're close to the Capitol region

I was born in Alexandria. I moved to Fredericksburg though. Not too far away, maybe 45 minutes max. If you are talking about DC, I go there a lot. So maybe we can play 18 holes

Its true though... I gave up snowboarding in the winters to fully fund Golf in the spring/summer/fall.

Just too damn expensive to get to the mountain 20 times a season at $83 for a got damn full day pass.

And to be honest, I played those par 3's really poorly but the rest of my game was on point yesterday... and I'd be more than happy to string a couple 44's together and shoot in the 80's.  I'm at a place right now where I'm just so ready to go low but each time im out there's something that I'm just not getting that day that throws me off.

Last week I played par 3's very well but i sprinkled a couple snowmen (8's) in on the front 9 and scored 45, 93 overall.  Yesterday my worst score on a hole was a 6 but it was being 7 over on par 3's that killed me.

I'll just blame it on not having a PW in my bag for 2 straight rounds.

Graphite vs steel? I played graphite shafts in my irons when I had callaway X-18 pro's and I sold them ***** the first opportunity I had to find a better set.  Hated how light they were.

Fraij, good looking out with the vid...SC, I'll definitely let you know when I'm on my way back to the area...there's another golfing Nt'er that used to post in this thread that's a few hours South of you closer to the NC/VA borderline off I-85. Wishful thinking for a NT Golf summit, but would be awesome!!
