But then you might run out of fools looking to buy them. I can't fathom spending that much on THAT particular pair of shoes, that's me finding a pair of deadstock 1982 with the box/pamphlet original bag it came in price. Outside of being 1/25, I don't see any drawing appeal.

?

It looks like dude wasn't criticizing anyone's spending, but rather WHAT they're spending it for.

I guess I'm a hater, because I don't see the added value in that pair of customs, especially at resale prices. If I were after a pair and didn't get them when they dropped a few weeks ago, I'd just commission a customizer to do an actual 1 of 1, but in all honesty, I'd put the time into finding a pair from the golden age of AF1s at a fraction of the cost.

Aside from the amount you can sell them for, what's the draw on that pair of customs? 1/25?

Success has nothing to do with it, your customer will probably be some idiot kid spending the last of his money on something to flex with on IG... good luck with the sale though

Definitely collectibility from the numbering for sure. They are clean and unique. Most people wouldn't have the vision to do one. Also The Shoe Surgeon is pretty expensive as is. I think they could have done a better setup with the box and maybe a dust bag as well. However the check materials are very nice. Here's a pic on feet from Twitter.

Just like you assume someone "successful" will want to give you 1.5k for your custom shoes. I'm not hating, just giving my opinion. I think they're really cool/different looking and a nice piece from a collectors standpoint but that's about it, I would never wear them.

So the Swoosh materials are nice but the actual shoe is your run of the mill, plastic/cardboard 'leather' upper GR that folds when you walk?
