Son was talking all that love **** too, acting like he was down with keeping a reseller-free zone going in here

Like I said though, I don't even blame him. I blame the dumb*** that bought from him.

Thankfully they're still around. I definitely have come back when I have the funds to spare for these before they dry up.

Awesome comparison pics! I love seeing AF1's in a worn state... creases and scuffs add character, experience, and "maturity".

The additional stitching on the quarter panel makes it look like a Blazer!

To me it's so interesting that the leather hi tops of the 70s and early 80s were all so similar in design, probably due to limitations in technology. Blazer, Air Ship, Court Force, Penetrator Hi, Dunk Hi, Air Force I, even Air Jordan 1, all had very similar designs. Before Air-Sole, were there significant functional differences among all those hitops?

In the last two decades, we've had a design explosion in colors as well as materials -- there's just so much visual variety now compared to then. Anyone in the design/manufacturing industry want to comment / enlighten?

man.. thank you for posting.  the OG's are beautiful. the toebox on the new release is surprisingly good but the OG pair still looks much sleeker to me.. though i doubt most would notice.

someone might come along and school me, but from what i understand, the AF1 was nike's first advanced basketball shoe.  it had the air sole even though it was not visible, and it was their first successful basketball shoe with a cupsole instead of vulc/autoclave.  the af1 had a closed lace setup while the blazers have open lacing.  all three of these things became pretty standard in basketball shoes

"Life's a Beach" Bespokes
Italian leather on the toe cap and the lateral sides of the heels. Navy canvas on the toe box, tongue tagging, foxing and heel vamp, with waxed canvas composing the outside center panels. Yellow patent leather Swooshes set off the upper, kept wavy with white 3M trim. Navy velour on the insoles and medial center panels, contrasted by red Italian leather on the lining. Rubberized medial side heel panels to minimize scuffs, navy nylon tags the tongue, and red patent leather shines on the inner swoosh.
I understand these are customs but was it based off a Nike ID option that came out or were they designed from the ground up by a customizer?

21 Mercer ID bespoke option.

I believe the price to do an ID bespoke is $1000

With the ID bespoke option you have Nike's library of materials at your disposal.
