Is anybody else disappointed with Lebron's first five shoes?

First of all, I'm not as into shoes as I used to be, so that results in less visits to shoe stores to check out the latest kicks. I finally saw the LebronV's in stores the other day, and I must admit that I was completely disappointed. They just looked awful and the quality seemed terrible. This comes afterthe previous model, that also seemed to have terrible quality. The Lebron IV's were actually more of a disappointment because I was excited that they wouldbe incorporating foamposite technology, but when I finally saw them in stores, I had no desire to purchase them. The quality has definitely slipped since theIII's, but even then, the quality was not superior by any means. I expected more from the Lebron line. Afterall, he's supposed to be the next Jordan, and Nike knows what Jordan did for their sales, so I don't understand why they wouldn't try to put out better products. Signature shoes just aren'twhat they used to be...

Not at all...

AZG- Great first shoe.
LeBron 2- Very good balling shoe.
LeBron 3- Great looking shoe.
LeBron 4- Great looking shoe & balling shoe.
LeBron 5- Needs some time...

The AZG and LBJ 2 are two of my fav balling shoes ever.
The 3 and 4 were a bit of a disappointment.
Haven't picked up a pair of the 5 yet but looks wise are the worst of the five.

i personally like the lebron 2s and 4s the most.
AZGs and 3s are decent. the fives will take some time. you cant expect all sig shoes to look awesome from day one. some will take some getting used to andothers will be determined by colorways and color blocking. in terms of basketball, sig shoes IMO are expected to perform on the court for the player whose sigthe shoe is for as well as for the people whose game emulates that of the player. the lebron line does that well.
comparing the lebron line to the jordan line is somewhat unfair because lebron shoes will have more "scrutiny" due to all the sneakerheads now. instead of seeing the shoe worn by lebron first, we get a preview and formulate opinions weeks if not months ahead of time. theres no "mystique"factor anymore. im personally not disappointed by the lebron line. its too early to do that.

^ yeah you must be some kind of shoe industry quality control expert, right??? Probably NOT.

so I don't understand why they wouldn't try to put out better products.
^ this guy is funny. pure unintentional comedy.

The IV's are really the only Bron i like so far. the rest seem uninspired. But the far was different unique. a real classic IMO.

For me it would be Lebron II > IV > AZG > III > V

But as far as I'm concerned, in terms of quality, Lebron >> recent Jordan retros...

^So true.

I guess the starter of this thread never wore them, because you can say many things about LeBrons but the quality, performance and comfort is very good...always. This is the trademark of Bron's shoes. There's no doubt about it!!

Some like em and some don't, everybody has a different taste, preferences etc. Some say they're ugly or heavy... whatever, to each his own.

One more thing just like there will be no next MJ, there will be no next AJs... only LeBron and LeBrons. Period.

yea, i wouldnt buy any lebrons up to date, if i got em for free id rock em tho...same with melos

Nike Talk needs to create an "I have an opinion that no one really cares about but I'm gonna give it anyway" forum...

Heck no.

I love LeBron's line.

And I LOVE the IIIs.

In terms of looks (for me): III > II > V > AZG > IV

I really do not like the IVs.

The only shoe I was really impressed with was the II, meaning it has great visual appeal and performance as well.

The IV looks great, but I didn't like the performance. I haven't tried the AZG so I can't speak on that one, and I didn't like the III at all.

The Soldier was a good holdover shoe for the V, and I haven't tried the V yet either, but in certain colorways it looks really nice.

What can you expect, his line will probably continue past X or XV and we're bound to see some shoes that don't deliver for everyone. Look at the Jordanline, and even the Kobe line, a lot of people are shocked at what looks to be the Kobe III.

You gotta love Lebron's line of shoes. at some point in your life, you'll regret not buying Lebron's shoes
Lebron Vs will be the MVP season shoes...I guarantee that

1>4>3>5>2 for me
Sorry, their will never be another Jordan.
Shoes- Jordans VS Lebrons- can't compare apples to apples. Latest retro J's ALL suck as far as performance and quality. The current Lebrons could besaid about OG Jordans back in the day.
255forlife- your signature says it all!

no but i am disappointed with his last five shoes

jk jk i actually like his line, i had the 2s then grew to think those were too bulky, until i got theIVs which i love but they are pretty darn heavy. still happy with my 2 pairs though. soldiers were way better imo. never had the zg1 or 3s

Thanks for the replies. I guess nobody agrees with me. And to clarify, no I don't wear any Lebron's for basketball. My favorite shoe for balling is theFP1 and it seems like I will never find anything better although I always try. For me, the shoe has to be visually appealing in order to give it a try. Inother words, I have to visualize it being a good shoe FOR ME, and then I would try it out. I don't have the money to buy every shoe that comes out and giveit a try because if I don't like it, then I'm stuck with it. The Lebron V's look really tacky and appeared to be poorly made. Obviously I am not ashoe quality expert, but I think anyone that critically looks at this shoe would realize this. I know Retro Jordan's have had poor quality as of late, butkeep in mind that JB does not intend for them to be balled in. They are meant more for the collectors or just to wear around (explains why there areL'Style colors). You are supposed to buy the Air Jordan's or other team models for playing in. But back to the topic at hand, I just think Lebron'sdo not compare to the signature shoes and other high end shoes of the late 90's. I know there has to be other people out there that would agree with me onthis. Nick, are you out there? The fact is, the Lebron's may be good by today's standards (since nothing Nike puts out lately is all that riveting),but when compared to the shoes of just 10 years ago, the Lebron's wouldn't stand a chance.
